Tahoe has annoyed me for the last time and it’s time to get rid of it. I’ve been thinking of downsizing to either a Telluride, Highlander or Atlas.

The Kia intrigues me with the 6 year 100k warranty. I doubt I keep the car beyond six years or 100k miles.

I also like the price of the Telluride, Highlander at Atlas compared to a Tahoe, 53k for top end where Tahoe starts at $53.

Does anyone have any experience with Kia or Highlander’s? Suggestion for alternatives?

Currently drive a 2017. If I’m buying it would be a 2023 Tahoe or Telluride, Highlander, Atlas.

I’ve got enough to buy any outright but I wouldn’t mind saving $20k if the other options hit the bells and whistles.

we have a 2023 Tahoe premier. It’s nice, but 100% not worth what we paid for it.

    educated guess...$72k before TTL?

I believe you do have supercruise or w/e.

    I don't on my loaded 22 Z71 for ~68k

we bought it in October. MSRP was 77 I think with super cruise and a bunch of other options. We paid 5k over, which was the lowest markup in the northwest at the time.

At the end of the day though, it’s still a Chevy. I told my wife she could get whatever and that’s what she chose, which I still find insane.

Got 3.28 from a local credit union. Expired on 12/23.

Can't find my wife's title :killme: est 7-10 days to get a new one.

Hoping the dealership just holds it

If that's true, I can't imagine why you'd buy a Tahoe. If you're worried about quality, just buy a warranty.

IMO Kia/Hyundai have always done a good job with warranty, etc., and parts are cheap. VW not so much. I have a Toyota Sienna now and sort of wish it were a Honda: I feel like with Japanese brands, you get loyal to one way of doing things, especially if you work on the car yourself. If not, all bets are off, I'd imagine.

luxury was a little more, but not meaningfully. She chose a Tahoe after we looked at Navigators, Denali, Escalade, and grand wagoneer.

My first car was a 94 k1500, second 99 Tahoe, third 2012, fourth 2017. Still have the K1500.

I’ve always had a Tahoe and I did buy the extended warranty and still have another 40k miles and two years on it. Now I’m looking at branching out.

Daughter has a horse and we’ve got two Aussies. Tahoe gave me room to tow and haul my shit.

Kia X-Pro can haul 5500 so I’d be covered there. I’ve got experience with the highlander and like it but feel the Telluride being a bit more rugged appeals to me. I could also get a beater to haul the trailer if I got Highlander.

I’m mainly looking for a reason to break away from spending 75k on a Z71 Tahoe and going 55k for an X-Pro, Highlander Premier, Palisade, Atlas Just don’t know anyone that has owned any but Highlander and atlas.

Highlanders are nice but the technology and interior are going to feel real out of date compared to Kia/Hyundai and VW.

Will jump in as a Wagoneer owner and say it has been awesome 5 months in. Interior shits on a Tahoe. Ride is amazing and motor sounds great and has more than enough power. Jeep is also wheeling and dealing on them. I got $5k off sticker and 0% financing for 72 months.

For a new vehicle, I see a ton of Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers around town. Definitely eating into the Tahoe market share.

I use Obenauf’s oil on most stuff, but yet to try it on any car seats. In the car I generally use water wipes baby wipes to wipe down most surfaces.

Even the all-in-one Lexol ones are pretty good. I always used to do a two-step cleaner/conditioner, but the wipes seem to "feed" it just as well. Almost all leather is coated now anyway, so unless you've got Nappa or something like that, I think the thread is more of an issue than the hide.

Guys what can you tell me about Volkswagen, specifically a Volkswagen Tiguan? Tiguan has been around since 2007 and the 2022 SE model can seat 7. That’s about all I know so far.

    Anyone here have direct experience?

    Mazda. Buy a Mazda.

    Seats 7? You need a CX-9.

I don't have any hands on experience with a Tiguan, but we looked at them and the Taos when we were shopping 2 months ago. Consumer Reports hated them both, for what it's worth. :twocents:

I feel like a 7 seat Tiguan would be VERY tight. They offered a Nissan Rogue for a little while with a third row, too. Probably fine for a five minute trip, otherwise not useful.

We had a RAV the other week for a rental. The back could fit 3 Away XL Carryons on their side stacked and then a backpack to fill it in. I’m not sure I’d say it would fit clubs easily based off that.

I've leased three straight cars and my latest lease is up at the end of January. My Kelly blue book value is about $4-5k higher than my residual value so it seems like it makes sense to buy it out, and we want to keep this car as our new second car. Does anyone know any lenders that would be best in the current market to finance the purchase? Is it best to just get dealer financing if I'm going to be going to that dealership for my other car, getting it serviced after buying it pre-owned, etc? Just strange that I haven't gone through this process yet.

Wife has a 2022 limited hybrid and we are huge fans of it. Easily fits my golf clubs in the back. I was hesitant about a hybrid at first but really like this one as it is not a plug in so the battery recharges itself. It’s used for mostly city driving so it gets just under 40mpg. 100% recommend

Recommend checking local and national credit unions for the best interest rates.

this is for new car loans but will give you a place to start:

I’m looking at inventory at local dealerships of the car & options I want. I don’t care much about the color. But, is there anything I should worry about having a white car? Too tough to keep clean?

White isn't that tough to keep reasonably clean looking compared to dark colors that really show dust and water marks, and best colors for keeping a dirty car clean looking are pretty unpopular (tan, bronze, etc.). White is also considered one of the safest colors b/c it's easy to see in all conditions except snow, i.e. esp. safer for night driving. Downside is you look like you're driving a rental car.

Well, if you're in Illinois, just get a vanity plate to differentiate it from rentals, assuming there any possible vanity plates that aren't already taken. What is it with vanity plates there? Do they cost less?
