saw that earlier today. Looks pretty good tbh. My wife has a 2020 or 21 highlander. It’s a pretty nice vehicle but I’d consider trading up to a grand highlander for a little more space.
Purchase made. Mercedes GLE at MSRP. 4.99% for 84 months. I 100% recommend credit unions. Chase was 6.99% for 72. It was definitely a weird experience. A nearby dealer refused to sell a car closer to my ideal specs that they had just put in their loaner program (<100 miles) because it was “more valuable than that with the CPO designation”.
I took a 72 month loan at 2.69% last year even though I had the cash to buy outright. Nothing stops me from paying it faster and keeping my cash in my pocket has paid off with current interest rates in savings accounts.
I have a 2020 Camaro 2SS which is fully paid off and has 20k miles. I love the car but have realized maintenance on this thing is going to be a bitch. New tires (all four), realignment, was like $2,500. Then I cracked a wheel/rim on a bad pothole and replacing the wheel was $1,000. When internal components eventually start breaking I can’t even imagine the costs. So I’m looking to get rid of this thing unfortunately. I can probably get around 40k for it. I’m not really looking to go over that for my next vehicle. Have considered the Honda Accord touring hybrid. Any thoughts?
If anyone is in the market for a car loan...https://www.armcocu.com/auto-loan-special/ 1.99% for 36 months. this is free money.
Volvo's offering $5,250 in loyalty and I should have $8-10k in equity from my xc40 lease that's coming due. Daddy might break out the spreadsheet this holiday weekend.
Gotta be honest, everything with low profile tires (60 series and lower aspect ratio) is going to be that way. We have a wagon with 45 series and it's awful. You have to just buy from Costco/Sams/etc. or else you're bent over. Wheels, Ebay. We had same. Honestly, it's just how it is with newer cars that have performance wheels/tires. If you don't want to keep the Camaro (you should), just get something with a turbo that can take a mild tune. It'll be a lot of fun (VW Arteon would be my pick for that).
Just bought a 23 F150 Platinum Hybrid. Paid MSRP with a $500 rebate. Qualified for 36 months at 0% financing through Ford Financial. Traded in my 2018 Lariat for 7k less than I bought it for in January of 2020 and 70k more miles.
I mean, if you're buying something like that on a 3 year term, they're gonna take your money every time to keep the books looking good. They look like cool trucks.
Point taken with tires/wheels on newer cars. That said, I still think this thing is going to be pricey when stuff has to be replaced, as they use a lot of the same parts on the higher-end Camaros as they do some of the Corvettes. I wouldn't think I'd have to deal with that if I had a boring sedan. I really don't want to get rid of it though as I love it. Really conflicted.
Thankfully prices are coming down, but it's still listed for 9k over MSRP with the retail price at the dealership they're getting it from.
Going from a 455 hp Camaro to a Honda Accord is going to make you limp. Those costs dont seem out of line for really any mid-high performance car. Thats the cost of tires, alignment and a wheel. Learn how to turn a wrench, change your fluids, swap your spark plugs and that thing should keep on humming. Keeping up on routine maintenance is key for V8's, they run hot and letting gunk build up in oil lines is a bearing killer. If you are putting off fluid or oil changes because of the cost, then yeah, you are going to have a hefty repair bill on your hands in no time and its probably best to get rid of it.
Not putting off stuff like that, for what it’s worth. I’m just saying if something breaks randomly. And yeah not saying they’re out of line. Just more than I feel like spending now that I have an idea of what I’m in for.
Those are damn sexy. I have been loving my 5 series more and more. Finally got the tune right and it's a damn fun sedan now. I can't wait to get new wheels for it.
If someone is going to only charge me 25 bps to extend a year, I’m going to do it. A car’s life is far longer than 7 years.
If I were you, I would look up the cost to do repairs like T-stat, water pump, coils/plugs, O2 sensors, Trans fluid, brakes, front end control arms, suspension. All are items that any car will eventually need replaced but see if you can stomach the cost and if it's that outlandish. If I had to guess, it's going a bit higher than Hondas/Toyota but nothing compared to the maintenance of Europeans. That's the cost of driving a V8 performance car.
I have a 2016 535i Msport. It's an inline 6 that BMW downtuned in order to push potential luxury sedan buyers to the much more expensive 550i (only problem is those engines melted on the regular). I added an upgraded Intercooler, charge pipe, strut bar, intake and then did a engine and transmission tune. It drives like a totally different car now and gets the same gas mileage as stock. It probably upwards of 400 hp now
Do the current M550i have engine melt downs? I’m struggling. M550i is most expensive. Then the Volvo S90 recharge, then the Volvo S60 recharge with Polestar Chassis, then new 2023 AMG C43 (not yet released) in order of cost most likely. All have pros and cons. Decisions… drove my coworkers M440i gran coupe today. Smooth ride and very fast acceleration. Faster than my c43 for sure but definitely I didn’t feel as connected to the road as the c43. It just felt “easier” to drive. Not necessarily a bad thing, though.
It’s technically been the same engine (N63) from 2008-present but there have been about 4 complete overhauls of the engine that it’s entirely different. The new N63TU3 (TU3 stands for technical upgrade #3) is monumentally improved from the previous N63 models. More robust and forged internals to handle the “hot vee” design of the engine (turbos planted in the V of the V8 producing insane power). What year was that M440i? 2020? BMW had an issue with body sway and “lightness” in some of the later models after they changed from hydraulic to electronic steering. Upgraded coil overs help for sure. Sport mode will also put on the stiffer electronic dampers. Im a BMW fanboy but i low key hate some of the things they have changed, smoothing the road and drive feel is right up there
pperc I will say that if you're buying, volvos had had weird mechanical issues for me and a couple of coworkers that we never seemed to have with bmw. I'm ok with that in a lease situation, but I don't think I'd ever buy one.
You couldn’t get a lightly used 911 turbo anywhere near the cost of those vehicles. At least not in 991 or 992 guise.
My xc40 has had this weird issue where the traction warning will go off randomly and the tires will lock for about a second. Happens about once or twice a month with no patterns (accelerating, coasting, braking). Had it in several times and they've never figured it out. Feels pretty unsafe tbh. My boss had some issue where his windows would unroll when he was away from the car occasionally. Which is pretty bad in south Florida where it rains every afternoon.
Certainly anecdotal, but I've been leasing for 15 years and haven't really heard of anyone having issues in that 3 year window beyond these things.
My mom's xc60 had the brake rotors warp and crack at 12k miles and volvo refused to do anything about them claiming they're a wear part (which they are, but they are supposed to wear at like 50k miles, not 12k). Tons and tons of people on the volvo boards complaining about the same issue and volvo telling them to fuck off.
Sounds like you need to add even more vehicles to the mix, like a Porsche Macan. Small SUV size for the kids, but has great driver feel relative to BMW.
Well, here I am to tell you the 911 is a 2+2. And if you can afford a 911, you can afford custom-made car seats! ;) #smartsolutions
Went with an xc60 ultimate. Had to go with 7,500 miles per year to get the number I wanted . Always go 10 for a buffer. Spoiler my turn in has 11k miles over 3 years
Update - saw in the paperwork that they input it as 10k miles per year instead of the agreed upon 7.5k. Kept that little nugget to myself
