Re: Carling Cup action today Yahoo UK should have a multiplex with text updates of all the games. They start at 3:45 EST now. Also, there is Copa del Rey,DFB Pokal and a League One game (Leeds playing) today as well. Man U and Real games are available on streams.
Re: Carling Cup action today i was sitting on the bus on the way home from class thinking, who we would play today, and that was the 2nd name i thought of (Gibson better be playing today)
Re: Carling Cup action today Obertan is REALLY good. I saw him play a lot when I was watching the Toulouse Tournament (that Chile won BTW, beat France twice). But he was the best player in the tournament.
Re: Carling Cup action today good to hear, ATM i dont have that high hopes, with the exception of giggs, we have all the squad players we need in the near future. anyone who will be leaving soon has a replacement.
Re: Carling Cup action today Multiplex for today's games: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/multiplex/31495.html
Re: Carling Cup action today we are playing a 5-1-4 Foster Neville Brown Rafael Evans Fabio Anderson Owen Obteran Welbeck Macheda
Re: Carling Cup action today Here is the link for the Man U match, BTW Welbeck just scored off a corner so it's 1-0. http://atdhe.net/10117/watch-barnsley-fc-vs-manchester-united
Re: Carling Cup action today 18 year old welbeck with his 2nd goal of competition (he did the Usain Bolt pose again after scoring)
Re: Carling Cup action today His match rating should be pretty high, so he could be team captain of the reserves soon and then move up to the first team. Who knows then he could get called up to the national team. As long as he keeps practicing his skills and getting achievements like this, the sky is the limit.
Re: Carling Cup action today captain of reserves usually goes to brown or neville, but yes i think he could have national team in his future. he will however never be a part of of starting 11, macheda plays both better and smarter football than welbeck. he does get mad flair points.
Re: Carling Cup action today Was trying to make a "Be a Pro" comparison, since this game reminds me of those you play when you begin your career on Be a Pro. Obertan had a wide open chance and blew it just now. Leeds has taken the lead as has Blackburn.
Re: Carling Cup action today All games final today. Barnsley 0:2 United Portsmuth 4:0 stoke city Blackburn 5:2 peterborough utd Tottenham 2:0 everton Sunderland 0:0 (1:4 pks) aston villa
Re: Carling Cup action today exactly what i was thinking stoke must have brought in the reserves or something
Re: Carling Cup action today Wednesday Games Arsenal v Liverpool Chelsea v Bolton Manchester City v Scunthorpe United Team News Arsenal v Liverpool Alberto Aquilani could make his Liverpool first-team debut in the Carling Cup tie against at Arsenal at the Emirates. The £20 million Italian midfielder has been recovering from a knee operation since his arrival at the club in the summer, but was fully involved in Liverpool's training this week, and is clearly being considered for a role - possibly from the bench - in the fourth-round tie. Liverpool are being wary over talking up Aquilani's possible debut despite his playing 15 minutes for the reserves last week. Boss Rafael Benitez is expected to make a final decision early on Wednesday morning before the squad travel to London for the match. Defenders Andrea Dossena and Sotirios Kyrgiakos could also figure having recovered from injuries. Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are set to sit the match out, while Albert Riera (hamstring) and Martin Kelly (ankle) are also injured. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is likely to stick with the core of the young side that looked impressive in the previous round against West Brom, with Carlos Vela, Sanchez Watt, Fran Merida, Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere all likely to feature. Midfielder Samir Nasri and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski are set for their first starts of the season after shaking off injuries, while Wenger is expected to field and experienced defence that includes Philippe Senderos and Mikael Silvestre. Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti will make wholesale changes to his league-topping side for the Carling Cup clash with Bolton at Stamford Bridge. John Terry, Petr Cech, Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka are all likely to be rested. Paulo Ferreira, Alex, Deco, Daniel Sturridge, Florent Malouda and Salomon Kalou are all set to start, while Nemanja Matic, Jeffrey Bruma and Fabio Borini will be on the bench alongside Lampard, Drogba and Essien. Jose Bosingwa (knee), Ashley Cole (ankle), Yury Zhirkov (knee) and John Mikel Obi (knee) are all sidelined. For Bolton, Swedish striker Johan Elmander is set to return to the side. The 28-year-old has been missing with a hamstring injury, but is now back in full training and should be available for the match at Stamford Bridge. Bolton manager Gary Megson has no other major injury concerns aside from those involving long-term absentees Joey O'Brien and Sean Davis, who both have knee problems. Manchester City v Scunthorpe United Manchester City manager Mark Hughes will be without Kolo Toure and Martin Petrov for the Carling Cup match against Scunthorpe. Toure and Petrov are suffering from heel and knee injuries respectively while Roque Santa Cruz remains doubtful for the fourth round match with tonsilitis. Wayne Bridge is expected to recover from a knee problem and Pablo Zabaleta is available again after missing the draw against Fulham because of a one-match ban. Blues boss Hughes says that though he will not take unnecessary risks in midweek, he will still put out a strong side. Scunthorpe will be without striker Gary Hooper, who is still missing with a foot injury, though defender David Mirfin could return after missing Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Peterborough with illness. Boss Nigel Adkins has several members of his small squad carrying knocks, but has refused to divulge any names.
Watson what kind of lineup are you expecting for this game? It's definitely a tough one for rafa to call, I doubt we see torres but I'm expecting a few first teamers
with some players struggling to get games you will probably see a pretty experienced lineup considering its Arsenal in the Carling Cup, Eduardo and Bendtner will probably start, Nasri is just coming back from injury so he will be in the lineup too, Ramsey will definitely start, maybe Merida too, here is the line up im guessing Fabianksi Gilbert, Silvestre, Sedneros, Gibbs Merida, Coquelin, Ramsey Bendtner, Eduardo, Nasri
we reeeeeally miss toure, i hope he is ready to go at birmingham im tired of drawing teams because the interior defense is a joke on set pieces
Is this game on any tv station. I wanna go hit a pub with directv but if it isnt on thats a waste of time.
30 yard blast that dipped over the keepers head, he was like three yards off his line, ball had crazy movement on it
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/e/everton/8329587.stm Everton seriously did get shafted, can understand Moyes being pissed
Very questionable call at the end. Arsenal defender hugged the ball after an Aquliani bicycle kick in the box in the last 3 minutes. BTW Babel sucks
