I guess what I need to decide on is hybrid vs all memory foam. I thought I read that hybrids can be better for side sleepers when it comes to relieving pressure.
Bought a dream cloud last year and love it. As a bigger guy and a side sleeper, it's soft enough that I don't wake up with a sore shoulder, but firm enough that I don't just sink into it.
The one with the extra pillow top. Looking at the website, pretty sure I got mine for about $300 less than they're currently selling for so if you can wait, might be able to get a better deal
Looking for a new mattress, but I'm on a grad student budget so I'm trying to avoid going much higher than $500. Was looking at the Casper Element since that seems to be the best option at that price range. But not super experienced here, so I was curious if anyone had recommendations
Haven't tried the Casper, but I do have a signature sleep mattress from Amazon that I've had for 5 years, stll use regularly, and like. It's firmer than T&N and tempur, which I like.
thanks for the recommendations. Signature looks sold out for the time being (Queens anyway). Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a Leesa studio
Obligatory "these mattresses are for the most part made with the same processes, in likely the same factories, so you can get a flagship zinus for the price of a base model casper without giving up much, or anything at all" Some companies spend money to advertise, some don't. That plays a role in price. https://www.zinus.com/
So i have to get a new mattress, I can't sleep on this old one anymore. There's so many mattress in a box companies now, I have no idea where to start.
We bought the Casper Nova Hybrid in January and while I had a little sticker shock at first I couldn’t be happier with it. I read this thread a ton and other reviews but we finally settled on that. They’re doing a 15% off July 4th sale currently and if you have a Chase credit card you should have an offer on there for an extra $100 back
So long story short but I'm gonna be renting a room at a friend's house for a few months. My current bed would probably barely fit in the room cause of the frame. Between that and saving money I think I'm I'm going to go with one of the entry or one step up full size beds. Then hopefully by first of next year I've bought a new place and that bed can go in an extra room and I'll upgrade to a higher end queen size.
You ever end up getting a sleep number? Wife is wanting to get one and I don't really have much of an argument against it other than cost compared to others mentioned itt. Coworkers have said it's life changing in terms of comfort for two people but I'm still skeptical.
In-laws had one and hated it. There was something weird with the frame that created a gap somewhere. They returned it for a tempur and are much happier
Looking for a king medium firmness, have a serta that I love that's about 3 years old, I haven't been able to find it listed, side sleeper, $1000ish Looking into the process of building your own latex DIY bed
Exact reason wife and I passed on getting one after debating it forever. Went with a Tempurpedic hybrid and it has been wonderful. Ungodly expensive, but wonderful.
Tempur has a sale at their friends and family site a couple of times per year. I got a thinner king, maybe 10" or so, for something like $650. I go through beds every few years. I told myself if it lasts more than 5, I'll go with one of their stupid expensive ones. It's been pretty nice 16 months in.
In the market for a new mattress (Currently sleeping on a queen that's 8 years old). I'm a novice to all of this mattress talk. But I believe that I need a hybrid modal. Have any of you had experience with Awara?
Aight I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Nectar. From everything I've read it really seems that a memory foam will be better for me (side sleeper, joint pains) rather than a hybrid. I just have to decide on a if I want to do the full size now and buy a nice queen mattress and frame and everything when I get my own place, or get a queen now. It saves a couple hundred bucks between the mattress and frame.
Fuck it, doing the full size for now. I'll want a nicer frame, etc when I get my own place so I'll do this for now.
Hopefully it doesn't suck because I don't want to mess around with having to ship it back lol. The 365 night trial is nice.
Bed frame, headboard and the promotional items (2 pillows, sheets) are supposed to ship this week. Mattress est Aug 5 to Aug 16..... fuck
My Nectar got delivered today. Just unrolled it and it's already twice as think as the Walmart one I was using temporarily.
I was actually using the one Zinus makes for Walmart until my Nectar got here. It wasn't as nice as the normal Zinus is I'm sure but it wasn't bad for like $130.
Yeah my understanding is that most of these bed in a box companies manufacture in similar or the same factories. So the rolls Royce zinus is similar price to a low end Casper but zinus isn’t paying for advertising
I just ordered a bed in a box from ashley furniture because I have a hook up there and got like 70% of. If it ever comes in I hope it isn't horrible.
Looking at the Zinus...what the fuck does infusing the memory foam with olive oil do? EDIT: apparently it's a green thing, so they use less petroleum based products. I really wanted it to cure cancer or something
We got that model in a King about 30 days ago and replaced our ~5 year old Casper mattress with it. It definitely sleeps a lot cooler than the Casper but is way more firm. Haven't decided yet if we're going to return it under the 90 day policy.
Would love to hear some good pillow recommendations. I think I am looking for a unicorn since I sleep in all sorts of different positions throughout the night, but here's what I've got: 1) traditional pillow design 2) big enough under compression to use as a side sleeper 3) also can work as a stomach sleeper
The two that came with my Nectar I'm liking alot. Of course that's compared to the shit I've been using forever
