He wasn’t using the box as much with a blanket inside it so I took that out but he loves having it draped over the box
My fav is when they stuff themselves into a shoebox or some other slightly too small for them box. Then make a combination of these two faces
Specifically covered ones they can walk into I love after getting something from Amazon or whatever, they're like "oh fuck, what do we have here???" when they see the box
Any of you guys moved after you had your cats? We just had an offer accepted on a house so will be moving in a month or so and want to handle it with him the best we can so there aren’t any issues once we move
He’s going to be miserable for 24 hours and probably hide. Then in a few days it will be like he’s lived there his entire life.
Never had an issue. They will probably hide for a few days but just leave all the interior doors open and give them time.
What I find works best is to spray the new house with some of your cat's urine. Really makes them feel at home. I do not recommend spraying the new house with another cat's urine, especially if that cat's in heat.
Probably would be best to move the litter box food, food and water bowls, and his favorite box or whatever else he likes to sit/lay/sleep on a lot first then move the cat and unleash him in the room where you put that stuff so at least he will have some familiar surroundings and something he feels safe and comfortable laying and sleeping on.
Had zero issues with Ramsey. He didn’t particularly like being in his carrier in the car for 7 hours, but when we got there he sniffed around a little and was good to go.
When we moved apartments we kept him at my in laws for a few days while we moved so he wasn’t locked up or at risk of getting loose and imagine we will do something similar this time but since it’ll be so different instead of same layout I wanted to do it right. Thanks.
Yep - I’ve put ours in the bathroom with all of this & kept the door shut while moving stuff in so they don’t get spooked & bolt out of an open door
Agree completely with creating a “safe room” for at least a day or two while you get everything in the new place. Helps the cat get adjusted without being overwhelmed and helps you by not having to worry where he/she is hiding while you’re moving everything. Win win imo.
I like the super large pic bc with the detail you can tell without a doubt that cat is 10/10 on softness
Im about to get 2 kittens this weekend hopefully from a rescue. We had a one cat before she passed away, was wondering with 2 cats can they share one litter box? Or a separate one for each one ?
They can share. Rather they are willing to share is a different story. My parents have 2 litter boxes for 4 cats.
We adopted two ~6 month old cats earlier this year, and they’ve shared the same litter box since the day we got them with zero issues. They also share the same food/water dish (gravity fed) with no issue. Best of luck, and post some pics!
These are our new additions! Orange is 5 month old boy names Reggie and the other is a 4 month old girl names Chloe, they already get along great and run around all night playing hide and go seek
I would go with two boxes just to help with all the waste. Cats can be weird. Our cats seem to indiscrimately use either litter box while one cat always poops in one spot and refuses to cover it. My friend’s two cats would pee in one litter box and poop in the other one.
We’re definitely going to add a second box when we get in a bigger apartment/house, but thankfully we’ve had no issues thus far.
I'm moving back to Los Angeles, and I have to drive across the country with my cat. I'm terrified. I flew last time, not an option this time. Luckily I have lots of Kittay drugs, but she freaks the fuck out when I drive her somewhere for 20 min. This is gonna be brutal.
