I'm gonna do a straight shot on 40 from Birmingham. 3 And a half days. Oklahoma City, then Albequerque, then Kingman AZ, then LA. I might make an additional stop to make it easier on her, I just feel like the quicker the better. I'm also going to a vet before, to get her sedatives and any pointers he can give me.
How did this go? My cat cries these deep, mournful wails -- "rooww--www--wwww" --- about 2 seconds into any car ride. It doesn't stop until she's out of the car.
Set out today, 10 hrs in the car. She hated the first two hours, but then she accepted her fate and tried to sleep the rest of the time. I'm having trouble getting her to drink water right now though; her hunger does not seem to be affected.
Update. Bryant was at the in laws from Sunday-Sunday while we moved things and had movers do the big stuff Saturday. We brought him home Sunday and let him out in the bathroom where his litter box is as it has the same flooring as our apartment did. Then the bedroom. He walked back and forth between those 2 rooms, the spare bedroom and the office/3rd bedroom for a while. Having a master bathroom seemed to throw him off since we only had 1 before. He explored a lot that night and the next day with my wife off work. But seemed fine last night. Today it’s like we didn’t even move.
That’s good, I think almost every cat I’ve ever had back to being a kid, we had/have to drag their asses out of the carriers at the vet’s office.
Damn, RIP Bonkers. He looks like a badass cat, who I’m sure gave you a lifetime of memories. Hang in there dude.
Sorry man, RIP Bonkers......lost my cat in December and didn’t think it be as hard as it was........hang in there
Thank you. Her name is Quinn. I recently had to put down a cat I had since I was in 5th grade. That shit is fucking brutal. My condolences Jc6 worst thing ever. Swore I wouldn’t get another cat for a while. Family friend found a stray and her kittens in their back yard one day. Asked me to come by and at least check them out. Saw this little one and couldn’t say no.
