I pulled out this director’s chair to set a laptop on while working from home last week, but it was quickly commandeered by René.
adopted a new cat last week current cat is such a dickhead to her, first new cat/old cat introduction we did years ago was easy as hell this one clearly going to take a while
also "walked in" on him eating a mouse whole the other night. the tail was hanging out of his mouth while he tried to stuff down the rest. not sure i've ever seen him in a better mood and he immediately tried to put his face in my face after i let him in.
my first instinct was to stop him but when only the tail is hanging out of his mouth, there isn't really much to do. i can't remember if i posted it in here but this is the same cat that carried a baby rabbit across the street into my front yard. i thought someone's alarm clock was going off at first, and then i saw him carrying the thing in his mouth. that's how i learned that rabbits scream.
Stand off in the backyard. My two cats are on the ground. They were just staring at each other for like 5 minutes until I reached for my phone and they heard me
With the whole quarantine thing and my kids being home, the house pissing cat stays under the comforter on our bed literally all day.
Maybe some of y'all can help out. My wife's (well ours i guess) cat seems to think that as long as she's in the litter box, she can pee immediately. So what happens is either the inside front of the litter box is just a massive pile of piss, or she pisses half in, half out on the mat in front. It drives me fucking crazy. We have a covered litter box to help with the smell (she also doesn't cover her poops, just drops them and walks off). I was thinking if we took the cover off maybe she would actually go all the way in to pee. Any of y'all dealt with something like this?
Taking the top off may help. Our cat hated having the cover on and would do something similar before we threw it out.
We will give it a try. Of course if it works that means we are buying a self cleaning box because I can't stand the smell lol.
Not the piss thing but for the poop thing, what I’ve read is that it’s a dominance thing. In the wild, covering it up is a sign they are not challenging the dominant cat and the dominant cats don’t cover
Well this punk definitely thinks she's dominant. I'm not much of a cat person if yall can't tell. Especially ones that are indoor only. The things we do for love and all that jazz.
If all else is normal, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Try to keep an eye on her when she’s eating to see if there’s any pain or discomfort. Could be an abscessed or broken tooth?
Working in an upstairs room that doesn’t get much use outside of always being the Cat's room. I feel bad not noticing until now how perfect this area is by the small window and I just put the blanket there. I usually keep it open all day now And have a small plastic thing below it he can use to jump on and off.
Loaned Chester out to my GF, she’s working from home and wanted the company. I’m still up early and at the office late so figured he could have a better life while she’s around all day. Naturally he loves her home office He also has become quite comfortable with her 80lb German Sheperd...not snuggling yet, but good progress for being introduced a few weeks ago
Perfectly - thanks for asking man. Upon x-ray after 5 weeks, break was healed pretty well but one of the screws on the plate had broken. He was hard to keep contained. Doc said keep him down for another two weeks just to be sure but cut him loose after that and he’s been perfect. Plate is still in, he’s jumping from couch to counter and acting perfectly fine
When our cat had all of his teeth removed he was back to eating dry food in a day or two like nothing had ever happened. As you said, resiliency in the animal kingdom, and nature in general for that matter, is incredible.
PRAISE BE! Ramsey allowed us to sleep in this morning by not knocking shit off our shelves (his favorite alarm clock)!
Had pretty much the exact same thing happen to one of my cats. Woke up to her drooling one morning then a bit of localized swelling developed. Somehow she broke one of her canines. Extraction was a breeze and she was back to herself as soon as the drugs wore off.
