My cat died unexpectedly a year ago. He was seemingly healthy and only 6 years old, then his heart just failed one day. Awesome cat, likely won't ever get another like him.
wife was a die hard cat hater, had fancy expensive dogs growing up. knew we didn't have the time or capability to take care of a dog so we got a cat 4 years back, now have two and wife is officially a cat lady. younger one who seemingly will never grow older one who just sleeps on us constantly, note the background. artist friend painted it for our wedding after him and his wife fell in love with her.
My parents oldest cat just had surgery to remove a thyroid because of a tumor on it. Was apparently 3x bigger than normal.

To those of you who lost a pet or have a sick one, I'm really sorry. Having a sick pet is such a helpless feeling, and losing one is devastating. My cat was sick last weekend, got all picky with her food all of a sudden (and she's always been a good eater... too good of an eater, in fact -- just like her human). Pretty sure it was just the change in weather --- shedding like crazy -- and had a hairball up in there. Added some pumpkin to her wet food and got her some more grass, she puked up a giant hairball and has been fine since. On another note, what's everyone's experience with getting pets dentals (dog or cat, since I'm pretty sure it's a pretty similar procedure)? Last time I took my cat to the vet they suggested she needed a cleaning and might need to get a molar plucked. Involves putting her under for a day... which is kinda concerning.
I believe it's pretty common to sedate animals for a proper teeth cleaning. I don't know if you've tried to brush your animal's teeth, but they really don't fucking like it.
we had our first cat sedated because she was sneezing blood so they could scope her she was fuckkkkkkked up for a solid day, it was sad
My cat had a fentanyl patch for 10 days after her mastectomy she was tore up! She's still could have cancer on the other side but so far so good, and she's only 7 1/2 pounds and after getting her mamory gland chain removed she lost 1/2 pound so I don't think I will make her have another mastectomy, she's happy for now. Yeah when we found out she had breast cancer I was crying like a damn baby, I never liked cats till I got one and she is my little homie.....really relaxing after a hard day at work to have ur cat just chill on ur lap and keep u calm
Mine after beating breast cancer in March got sick again right before Xmas and we had to put her to sleep :(
Two of our cats (well I guess technically my parent's now since I don't live there anymore) got in a fight yesterday. One of them suffered a semi-nasty injury because it was leaving a trail or pool of blood everywhere it went. We couldn't find the source of the bleeding because she has so much dang black fur, so we took her to the vet, but she had stopped bleeding by the time they got her there. Three different vets looked her over and none could find any indication of a wound . Guess the cat is a mutant that has super fast healing powers.
Good. Still gets a kick out of ambushing the dog from beneath the kitchen table after all these years.
She’s well. Getting up there in age, but still likes playing and whatnot.... just grumpier. Will post a pic later.
This is my cat, Tiger. We had to put him down about this time last year. Had him since he was a kitten and he made it 19+ years. Lost him for over a week back in 09 when he was caught out in a storm. Was affectionately known as little buddy. You have to be miserable or an incredible try-hard to dislike cats.

adopted two kittens from the same litter a few weeks back, olenna (white-bellied) and piper. it is nice having sisters since they're very rambunctious, we don't have to keep them as occupied as opposed to just one cat

got a russian blue'ish rescue cat about a month and a half ago. her favorite activity is zooming between my feet in the morning and trying to trip me.
I have 2 rag doll Persians. One has been mine for 13 years. She's an awesome cat. The other my cousin gave at she moved to a new place. He's a little asshole. OT: got tidy cats breeze litter box/litter. It is far superior for smell, cleanliness, and ease of maintenance to all others.

My cat was 8, died of a sudden heart attack two years ago. Awesome cat, perfect personality between being a dick at all the right times and acting like a dog most others. Gonna be a while before I get another.

Almost 10 now, tough to read about all these treasured cats dying cuz the day is comin and I'm gonna be a complete wreck. other one is very attached to my wife and doesn't really care much about me at all.

I am a dog person but I also own a 20 pound all black Maine Coon. Really cool cat. About 4-5 years old he is a rescue. I’ve had him longer than I’ve had my bulldogs.
