I am fully onboard this restaurant chain’s train. Here’s my go to order… Greens & Grains bowl -Super Greens -Saffron white rice (Right rice isn’t bad either) -Spicy lamb meatballs -Hummus and Crazy Feta or -Red pepper hummus and Harissa -Roasted corn -Pickled onions -Salt brined pickles -Tomato+onion -Crumbled feta -Garlic dressing -Skhug -Lemon herb tahini If anyone has a good combo recommendation I’m here for it.
Mediterranean places near me in Chicago are top notch so I just go local didn’t even know there was a chain like that
Love cava. Spicy harissa avocado. The one I live next to is also the most poorly run restaurant on the planet
One I used to live by was wildly inconsistent as well. Sometimes I’d get a bowl that was two meals worth, other times barely 1 missing ingredients, etc.
I just got yelled at by my wife because apparently she got an invite to the grand opening here in Houston and now I’m an asshole for not remembering something from Jan 22 2022
Zoe’s was better, miss their salmon. Our Cava is crazy slow, stingy, and I’m pretty sure on separate occasions their food caused a night of vomiting for my wife and son, so yeah we’re never eating there again. Edit: the food did taste good. Going down at least.
We have Roti which sounds like the same thing. In suburbia when ordering out, that's where I go. If I'm downtown BenjYehuda. I still need to hit up more of the places in Skokie.
It’s been a few years, but I must have been ordering the wrong things because cava was always mid as fuck to me.
Cava has higher quality ingredients than Roti and has put a lot of Roti locations out of business in the DC area. As someone else stated tho, they are stingy with their portions compared to Roti.
anyone been to a mezeh? Somewhat similar to cava but better I think. mostly in MD/VA/NC but expanding quickly from what I can tell.
I think that they restarted Zoe’s after the rights went back to them once Cava changed all of them and some time passed.
Cava has owned Zoe’s for the last five years. They ran Zoe’s into the ground and are just merging Zoe’s into Cava. The original Zoe’s was awesome. When they went corporate it went downhill fast. The family that started it got the rights to re-open a Zoe’s with its original menu.
That explains it. I first went ~10 years ago and loved it but over time had zero interest in going. The chicken greek salad and the grilled potato salad were all I would get towards the end.
