Whole team outside the big 3 has been useless. We won’t shoot like that from 3 in the second half but if we stop turning it over being baited into the same fucking pass over and over we’ll be fine.
Hey guys for some reason this game turned around when we put Deandre Hunter on Tyus Battle instead of Kihei
I get this isn't top tier competition, but I am so excited to have a big man who attacks the rim like this. I think Shedrick is going to be special.
It’s crazy on CavsCorner people are saying he needs to redshirt. I don’t know wtf they’re talking about...
I’m not sure he’s not already better than Caffaro. Caffaro is way more raw than people think, he didn’t play ball until 2014
True but we don’t know much about caffaro. If his game is like salts I’d rather have KS not shirt because of md and huffs ability to get in foul trouble quickly. KS has a nice shot and looks pretty athletic to me
Was there, good game. Tried to upload a pic of Jacks senior night thing, but the Board was rejecting JPJ wifi
Think Michigan / Michigan St. last night should flip Michigan into our 2 seed and Michigan’s State out. Still holding out hope for Tennessee as that 2.
It will never happen, but with Miller all but gone at Arizona and Ty and Dre, especially Dre, likely leaving, Arizona’s 2019 commitments(Manion and Green) would make a lot of sense for us and them. The strange thing is they both visited Arizona yesterday and seem all-in at Arizona. Maybe that changes once Miller is fired and they get their release.
Badocci is the odd man out I feel like. The staff was really high on him coming into this season but he’s not a 3 and I can’t see him getting any time as a big going forward.
He’s still projected as a fringe first rounder. I think it’s a win win because if he leaves it’s because we did well enough in the tourney to boost his stock
Best and worse case brackets I put together while bored on a conference call and posted on the Sabre: Worst Colgate will be our 16 seed (KenPom 130, top 20 3 pt. shooting team) Wofford will be our 8 seed (KenPom 20, Second in 3 pt. shooting). We'll play them in Columbia Maryland will be our 4/5 seed, in D.C. And, yes, KenPom #4 Michigan State will await us in the Elite 8 Best We could see Norfolk State as our 16. Despite the regional rivalry, they're KenPom 257 and sub-225 in both offense and defense. Awaiting us on the 8/9 line could be Seton Hall, KenPom' #59 team with three quality wins in all of 2019. Moving on, we'd have a home game in D.C. against a Dean-Wade-less Kansas State (#100!! in Offensive Efficiency even with him) on the 4/5 line, as he's rumored to be out for the season. Finally, if there are no upsets along the way, it's entirely possible we'd be tasked with defeating coach-less KenPom #16 LSU for our first trip to the final four.
As long as we can avoid Michigan State at 2 or Wofford at 8, it's going to be tough to get a bad draw. I'm really happy with the potential draws at 4/5 and 2/3. Any of Tennessee, Michigan, LSU, Texas Tech, Houston, or Purdue are great with me at 2/3. We can't get UNC or Duke, and Kentucky is highly unlikely (and honestly I wouldn't hate it). 4/5 consists of 4 teams we've already beaten, Kansas, Marquette, Mississippi State, and Kansas State. Wofford should be a solid 7 seed and, thus, not our problem, but I'm a little worried some P5 team is going to steal it from them this week because of recency bias.
I also really don't want to play Maryland in D.C. because it's going to drive ticket prices up and they're already absurd.
one of the more accurate blogs has this now: EAST – Washington, DC Columbia Salt Lake City 1) Virginia 16) Iona / St. Francis (PA) 8) Ole Miss 9) VCU San Jose Hartford 5) Maryland 12) LIBERTY 4) Kansas State 13) New Mexico State Des Moines Tulsa 6) Cincinnati 11) Arizona State 3) Michigan 14) Hofstra Jacksonville Des Moines 7) Louisville 10) Utah State 2) LSU 15) Colgate
I saw that same one on Bracket Matrix and I really like the draw, but it loses credibility with me because I don't think Virginia/VCU can be placed together on the first weekend as prior opponents. Edit: I think you have to assume chalk so maybe that's the loophole - This bracket doesn't technically anticipate a UVA/VCU matchup because VCU is a 9 and not an 8.
they can bc they're not in the same conference - not that they would necessarily want to but I dont think rematches OOC have any official rule against them
Yeah, and if we end up with UVA, UNC and Duke all as 1 seeds (I think unlikely - Whoever loses UNC/Duke in the ACC Tourney will probably be a 2) things get really complicated trying to avoid conference matchups with 8/9s and 4/5s
I see danger in those brackets. I’m going to be as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs next weekend.
We've now officially lost, as the favored team, in every single round of the NCAA tournament (pre-Final 4) under Bennett. Fans have every reason to be nervous. But Jack Salt was the only player on this year's team that was on the team against Syracuse (didn't play a minute) and Michigan State (redshirted). These guys don't give a shit about the history, aside from last year and only 4 of our current 8 rotation even played in that game. It's unquestionably Bennett's best team statistically, and we're not really "missing" anything. On paper, there's no reason to be nervous. But I definitely will be.
