Lick these balls, TheChatch
Let’s never change this thread title!!!
4 hours or less of sleep but totally worth it.
My hangover is bad but it’s not going to be nearly as disruptive at work as the fact that I need to consume all media content available.
This is one of the best features of a natty. You will be watching YouTube compilations for weeks. Inhale the #content. Congrats Hoos.
i turned on sports news and was upset any time they decided to talk about anything not the natty. sorry dont care about chris davis rn, gimmie hoos only.
the line to lick balls is long.
I can barely see but it’s worth it
Has the NC guy who trashed Bennett said anything?
How do I become a champion?
Lose to a 16 seed then Double dribble
I think Ty might be my favorite Hoo ever
Also not seeing enough love for how absolutely fucking incredible Key was last night.
was preaching that at the bar!
There’s also a cool pic of Brogdon, Harris, JA and Hall from last night on the court smiling at Tony, but I can’t seem to track it down. Those guys are absolutely a part of this
Just got to work. Answering only time-sensitive emails and then firing up the replay on YouTube TV
Great find.. Is there a link to this picture?
Will be live blogging my rewatch here because I am too hungover to work.
When you rewatch - Keep eyes on Coach Vandross. He's absolutely killing me on the bench.
Also, I remember saying last night after we went up by 10 "The nice part is that this lead is even safer because Texas Tech isn't exactly a team that is going to rain 3s on you" precisely before they made four consecutive threes to go on a 12-0 run. My friends almost kicked me out of the bar.
Knowing that there's basically no chance that Jerome stays, next year is going to be a down year. But if Kyle stays I think this can still be a very good team. I'm MUCH less concerned after seeing how Kihei played in the tournament. The starting lineup will be solid, but big questions on the bench. We'll see how much Tony thinks Morsell can run the point by whether we aggressively pursue a grand transfer PG/CG.
I knew how good our shooting was last night, but I didn't appreciate how great the passing was. TT was swarming the ball a ton, and we were able to make the extra pass for open looks. Those passes were not easy though - Frequently passing through 2 or 3 guys to the open man. Ty had some absolute dimes, but Hunter had some ones that I completely missed in the moment.
Jeff Whites piece on the natty is a must read with the quotes.
Nm the link wont work
Uncle Malcolm and Joey Hoops are 1A and 1B to me. But it is a long list.
There’s just so many things I admire to the highest degree about TB and this program. High character, high class (those get a lot of pub), scheme (likewise) but the conviction that the staff recruits with and the player development that occurs is off the fucking charts.
I don't mean to disparage Malcolm because he's absolutely Top 5, but he was always a little too robotic for me. The reason I love Ty so much is that he was the perfect catalyst for this program to take the next step - He plays with BALLS and, even if that can be a little frustrating at times, it's exactly what this program needed. To me, he's all the best parts of Joe, Justin and London. Joe would be his biggest competition to me, because he's really the face of the program turning around.
The player development is what I can't believe doesn't get more respect. Definitely a little orange and blue glasses here, but none of Joe, Malcolm, or Ty is playing in the NBA without going to Virginia. Hunter and Malcolm probably get drafted, but I don't think Hunter is a lotto pick and Malcolm definitely isn't ROY. You might even throw Mike Scott in there (though IIRC he was a pretty highly rated recruit and wasn't a pick of Bennett). I think our recruiting is going to skyrocket as that pipeline for guys ranked in the 40-100-ish range continues to develop.
I can’t imagine many better feelings than coming back to CVille with a natty
Marco Anthony is designated dancer
Solid role player
Just seeing this for the first time. Major trip down memory road. I remember watching the blowout loss at Tennessee and thinking “is this the beginning of the end for Tony Bennett?” Lol in retrospect. The win over #4 Syracuse to clinch the ACC on senior nite remains my favorite memory of UVA hoops at JPJ. The place went absolutely nuts when Thomas Rogers (who?) drained a three with under a minute left.
There is a moment in the above video where an impassioned Mike London makes a voiceover appearance, hysterical and odd...
Since the Tennessee game:
21-3 ACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions / Michigan State
30-4 ACC Regular Season / Michigan State
29-8 Nothing / Syracuse
23-11 Nothing / Austin Nichols / Florida
31-3, ACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions / UMBC
35-3, ACC Regular Season / National Champions
169-32, Four regular season ACC titles, two ACC tournament tiles, one national title.
If you take out the outlier 23-11 season where we had arguably our best player for a total of 1 game, we've lost 21 games in five seasons. That also doesn't take into account that in a tournament scenario (whether ACC or NCAA) you're guaranteed two losses unless you win a championship. Just unbelievable.
I went to two games in 2014; VCU and Wisconsin.
that video is slaying me
Dont know who this guy is but I identified with a lot of it. One of my favorite reads after the title and really well written.
Blind posting because I love this dude’s videos
Just plz not Kyle
Shit changing so fast. It seems like there really is mutual interest with the Hausers (Hoos-ers?). With them, we'd look like this next year:
2020: Guy, Key
2021: Anthony, Huff, S. Hauser (RS)
2022: Kihei, Stattman, Badocchi
2023: Caffaro, Morsell, Shedrick, J. Hauser (RS)
2024: McCorkle, [Only room for one more if no transfers]
Hate to see it but if we get the Hausers we'd really need the depth next year, but would also need to clear out a handful of guys to free up the 2020 recruiting class. We'd also probably be done recruiting the 4-5 for the foreseeable future.
