that pass to 88 is the kind of short stuff we need to use, bryce throws poorly on the stuff to reed on the edges. not sure why anae chewed kelly out after that.
Friday games really suck shit for this reason, if you lose in a bad fashion like getting blown out by Duke or being offensively inept against a bad Miami team, the whole country just watched it happen. if you lost tomorrow in a 4 PM game nobody would have noticed.
didn't get to watch much but absolutely called this L on the podcast I hear bryce hall is dead - never come back to school, kids
Damn Hoos I really hated to see Hall go down like that. Here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery and a bright future no matter the diagnosis.
That doesn't surprise me. Shedrick always looked like a gem to me in his highlights and I never quite saw it from Caffaro. He plays with a little too much finesse for what his role is supposed to be. I bet Caffaro ends up being a useful piece but takes a while to come along while Shedrick is more of an instant impact.
should i take the reports on Mamadi, as the offense has been tailored some to suit his abilities or that he has elevated his game to another level? or both?
yeah I mean I just always hoped Caffaro can play Salt's role - no reason to not think that, but was disappointed to hear that might be asking too much
I would be surprised if we made too many changes to the offense but ultimately we're going to need to rely on Mamadi, Braxton and Jay (all traditional blockers) to put up at least 50% of our points. So I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of tweaking to allow that.
just firing off some OL frustration this afternoon, when Jestus Johnson gets to school, he will be only the 4th OL we have brought in over 300lbs in the bronco era. Jameer may be over now, i'm sure his dad posted his weight on twitter recently.
Don’t know if anyone follows embrace the pace on twitter but he said he has the entire scrimmage on his instagram. Md offense was a big surprise. He was confident putting the ball on the floor for a pull up jumper, hit three 3s, passed it well. Shedrick shouldn’t shirt, he looked smooth out there and could provide minutes given huffs ability to rack up fouls quickly. Mckoy didn’t do much of anything. Not sure what to expect from him.
Justin Anderson got cut by the Wiz. I gotta say I'm a little surprised he hasn't drawn much interest - he seems like he could still be a useful piece. I guess that's just the nature of how competitive the NBA is. Better the last spot on the bench go to a guy on his rookie deal who can be a useful piece but might also blossom into something else than to use it on a guy who plays hard but seems to have a limited ceiling.
Preseason #11. Dare I say.... too high? I think we're looking at another year like 2016-17. There are just pieces (guards) missing. Since the 2014 git gud season, our regular season losses have been: 2 (2014 post-Infamous Tennessee Game), 4 before and including that. 2 6 9 2 2 I'd say we're safely in the 6-9 range rather than the 2.
All of the reports from preseason (including what I saw on twitter about our scrimmage with VCU) are that we're struggling to score. I think our main threat on offense is Kihei's vision + Mamadi/Jay's finishing. I'm all for going for more post scoring, something we've been missing for a long time. But we're going to need someone dynamic on the perimeter. We have a bunch of shooters on the perimeter but none of them appear to be able to create for themselves outside of maybe the unknown commodity Morsell (at least to start the year). I'm hoping Braxton can show a little of that from the 3 spot.
i watched a condensed version of our game, and now i'm afraid of some team running fake punts on us all game long.
This looks good. Are there any memorable videos/articles you guys like on the March madness run or just TB/Hoos b-ball in general?
