FYI - I've never been more sure of a UVA loss than tonight. Timestamp, write it in stone, done.

 

Two day turnaround, injured Diakite and Jerome, surging Tar Heels team, road shooting struggles for our guys, my dog puked everywhere this morning.

Nothing is going our way right now.

 

maybe this is one of those mid-season lulls that we snap out of to be awesome down the stretch

 

I think you’re right, but Ty’s health may prevent a return to elite status.

 

i just don't want to end a season the way we did when we lost Anderson, Perantes' ribs, or last year with Hunter. i'd prefer we temper my expectations and then have a nice surprise.

Sprained back and no word on md. I think they both play and you guys still dominate us

 

He has a back strain and it's mostly just sore. It's not serious but back injuries are tricky and hard to get rid of completely without full rest. It's clearly been affecting him and hard to believe it would go away on a short turnaround.

Diakite traveled with the team and is apparently "acting normal" but no idea whether he's cleared to play or not.

But you already knew all this, superfan that you are.

He had to have a shot in his back to play vs Duke. That sounds serious enough to me.

 

If he played, it's not serious IMO. Our staff are wimps when it comes to letting guys play through injuries (probably rightfully so, but I'm still salty about Hunter last year). I'm worried about it and think it will linger all season, but I don't think they'd let him in if there were danger of aggravating or reinjuring.

the not being ready for the halfcourt trap out of a timeout aka a staple of every unc team since dean smith started coaching was bizarre

you have to know that’s coming

 

Clarke has killed us this half. Tb sure does love him though

 

UNC is doing exactly what every team to beat us in the past 2 years has done: Pressure the ball on the perimeter. When we can’t run sides we fall back on hero ball and we are not good at that.

The way to beat this is a guard who can take his man one on one and we don’t have that guy on this team. Smart teams will keep doing this until we have an answer.

 

We’ve also lost about 5 50/50 balls in a row, not used to getting out hustled like that

Whew. Doesn’t feel like as big of a win without Little and Johnson for much of the game but we needed that. Punched in the mouth on the road and responded.
