As someone that is unfamiliar with being guaranteed a spot in the tournament, is it normal to have lengthy discussions about likely paths to the NCAA championship and optimal second weekend opponents before the ACC tournament has started? That seems to be a great way to set yourself up for a huge emotional failure. Many would argue that is an arrogance only possible from Duke fans. One would’ve assumed not being a full year from the UMBC loss, you all would be a little more cautious.
Tough to care about the ACC tournament when you've already won it several times in the past couple years and not much you can do in it will affect your seeding. If we lose in the quarters, maybe we drop to a 2 seed but probably not. Either way, as a 1 seed, it's natural to look at how your bracket plays out. No one is saying we're guaranteed to win any of these games. But when you're a 1 or a 2 seed, your view of the bracket is bigger than just individual games because chalk assumes you're making the final 4. Basically, we're not predicting we'll make the Final 4, but the bracket is.
plus since we're so acutely aware of what underachieving in the NCAAT looks like, it's normal to panic and over analyze potential opponents that might trip the team up
Yeah I for sure hope Ty and Kyle are playing Fortnite or something and not performing this same pointless exercise
and I know DBH was asking a different (and reasonable) question, but every time such subjects come up on the blog or twitter I get a handful of "NO DONT OVERLOOK WAKE FOREST (ETC)" comments from twitter idiots and it always cracks me up
I am sad. Really didn’t think we would lose. Told myself before the game it didn’t matter but that shitty performance was out of nowhere, especially on offense.
Team just needs something to break their way and get the yips to dissolve away. They’ve played much better after that three by Kyle but still can’t quite put it together. It’s 100% the yips at this point and it’s infuriating
If tony starts the 2nd half with the same lineup we are going to lose. That shows he refuses to change
