I’ll take being a consistent tourney team. Same with baseball. Make a nice run every 3-4 years when we’ve got an experienced roster and see what happens.
shut down the baseball program
lets do aussie rules football instead
I try to like you, but sometimes you make it really hard.
No one does. UGA signed 7 five stars.
i would love to have a competitive baseball team. i really would. but without a lottery we're at a massive disadvantage. i would rather not play than play and lose.
Doesn’t seem to slow down State, Ole Miss, or Southern Miss. It’s a hackneyed argument that people love to bring up when our biggest issue post-Wells has been coaching, plain and simple.
you're probably right. i don't watch it and i wouldn't watch it if we were good. it's the sound of the bats. can't do it. but i would cheer passively and say things like "roll tide" if they won anything relevant.
It's about to be college baseball time. Do we even expect to make regionals this year? Has new coach put together a recruiting class yet or is his first class ongoing/yet to be signed?
If we made a regional I’d be borderline shocked. Not much talent right now, and Bohannon has to rebuild pretty much everything Goff destroyed. Hope we can finish above .500, but that might be a stretch.
I guess Saban's looking for a capable backup
You’re not going to get some sexy grad transfer for QB. They know they won’t start. Sounds about as good as we can get. And either Jalen moving positions or is transferring.
Before the flame war started, mullet had a silly post where he presented Dareus, Eddie, etc as outliers. So I went back to see how many of Saban’s three stars made meaningful contributions. 31 in eleven years isn’t bad. I haven’t crunched the numbers but I’m guessing the percentage of meaningful contributors to busts is greater than that of our 4 star signees. This was a fun walk down memory lane but it’s sad that some fans are up in arms that we signed...wait for it...four three stars recruits this year. These are the guys:
Maze, Hanks, Chapman, Gentry, Vlachos
Dareus, Cody, Smelley, Square
Ryan Kelly, Sunseri
Alphonse Taylor, Griffith (if only for onside)
Averett, L. Brown, Mazza, Eddie Jackson
JK, Holcombe, Jarran Reed
Hentges, Womack, Marks
Forristal, Irv Smith, King, Jacobs
Please use 247 composite rankings, thanks
Rivals beget this site so imma use our progenitor
Jk was not properly ranked
The specialists never are
Michigan fan looking for some information on coach Macelwein. Was he a good recruiter? What can we expect as a play caller? I know Florida fans hate him but seems like he had a really good run at Bama
He doesn’t recruit. If all he has is QB and offensive calls, he can be good. Some of his best called games were 09 SECCG and 11 Natty vs LSU.
We are hoping Shea Patterson will be eligible, any thoughts on him as a Qb? Thanks for the responses
I personally watch every Ole Miss game and was mesmerized by the young god Shae Petersen. He definitely outplays his name
here's some numbers on recruiting 08-15. may be a little off because who the fuck actually remembers which random interior linemen were good (i'm hoping you guys do tbh). all of this is based on 247 composite rankings and specialists were not included because if their rankings were true jk would have been a 5 star.

again, i may be misremembering on some. it's been a while.
Ok man. I’m not pointing out that taking a few 3 stars is a bad idea. I’m just saying that taking less 5 & 4 stars will definitely impact us. If you think that’s silly I don’t know what to tell you.
We still had fifteen 4/5 star players this year in a class where we only took 19. I just think it’s a little unfair to act as though signing three stars is a precipus. We’ve done very well to have the majority of our top rated guys pan out. If that changes, then I’ll be very concerned.
I’m not concerned either. I’m just pointing out that if we put together another class like this last one I’ll be concerned. Not concerned that we’re falling off the earth. Concerned that we can be dethroned
What the fuck, Reuben
Some of these guys just don’t get it. They have the whole world right in front of them and can’t stop fucking up.
I will be sooo disappointed if Reuben pulls a Rolando and throws HOF talent down the shitter because he can’t stop acting like an idiot off the field.
Might be too late. Domestic violence is a career killer these days.
Further proof that St Nick Saban is a miracle worker with troubled young men and when he sends them into the world and away from his loving arms and protection bad things happen.
Coach Saban is just to good for this world and will certainly be recognized fully in the next amen
So Mayden and Knotts are going to transfer after Spring per that gay ass recruiting thread on BOL, by slym
I wouldn't be shocked at the thought that Reuben is well into a battle with CTE. Spent his entire life as a wreckless tackler
Reuben could be a hall of famer in 20 years, but it kind of seems like he’s going to blow it.
I feel like this team will overperform in tournament play. We've put together some really good showings against good teams lately, I'm encouraged by that. Hard to understand how they do consistently shit the bed against inferior SEC teams though. Chalk it up to youth I suppose.
good guard play is key for making a run. definitely on team will overperform.
losses to uga, vandy, and ole miss are frustrating though
putting ourselves in the sweet 16 again smdh
way too early to talk about that stuff, aside from the fact that we haven't earned it yet. Usually teams that make a run have 1 of 2 things, a bunch of shooters who get hot (we don't have that) or really favorable matchups, which we obviously don't know yet.
If we are looking ahead to something I'd love an SEC Tournament win, so let's focus on grabbing that bye
That being said, and totally looking ahead like I just said we shouldn't do, if we can somehow finish strong at 4-2 in this last 6, and grab that 7 seed and maybe get dropped in Nashville that would be p neat
Thanks for this. It's high quality and severely lacking in likes.
Will the twins from UAB who threw that cool over the head no look pass that one time be there?
Hope Squeaky Johnson is there. GOAT b-ball name
Well if Eric Henderson isn't the next defensive line coach, then I'm going to be struggling to figure out what a NFL coach is doing following Rodney Orr/Tider Insider on Twitter.
