Unless Kerry Murphy’s tutor still works at Hoover, it seems so.
I just want one of those 6'6 wrs at some point. Sure, shavers is big but he hasnt seemed great in limited snaps. Maybe thats due to playcalling when he finally gets out there.
Breaking News: Pickens transfers to Colquitt County.
Sometimes you don't know the effect it will have until other coaches are hired. I am sure Coach Locks has tried to gauge some interest from a few Bama guys, but what I have heard he may be on the verge adding Elijah Brooks, the head coach at DeMatha Catholic, as the running backs coach at Maryland.
Alabama has one current commitment from DeMatha, DeMarrco Hellams, which I think will have a major impact on his recruitment. Hellams has not responded to reporters about Locksley taking the job. I believe if Coach Brooks gets the job we might see Hellams and possibly Keilan Robinson flip their commitment to the Terps.
Why would anyone flip from Alabama to Maryland? I know a lot of you will question it. Let me just say there is A LOT of people who love Coach Locks in the region. A lot of high school coaches. A lot of fans. This was a big-time hire and the only hire Maryland was going to make if given the opportunity. I know Shane Lee and Darrian Dalcourt have come out and said they are solid with Alabama. I'm not too concerned with those players. Just never know if Coach Locks decides to hire any other coaches in the area who may have significant influence.
Here is what I've been told regarding Locksley's schedule in the next few weeks.
He has a press conference tomorrow at 11 a.m. (EST) and announced as the Maryland head coach. Then will attend a reception. He is supposed to head to Atlanta tomorrow evening for a Broyles award ceremony.
He is scheduled to return to Maryland Tuesday. I assume he will likely attend the Heisman ceremony in New York on Saturday evening. He will return to Alabama and with the team on Wednesday and Thursday.
Coach Locks is expected to head back to Maryland for an official visit weekend next week. He will then head back to Alabama on Monday. I believe the plan is to have his major position coaches set by early next week.
If we lose Hellams, we really need to get Battle.
DB has to be the position most in flux. We could reasonably end up with none of the 3 we have currently committed (Hellams, Turnage, Williams) and add any or all of the 4 uncommitted (Battle, Banks, Carter, Pola-Gates). It will be some mix of the two groups, but it’s completely unsettled.
Everyone seems to believe Turnage isn’t solid, but I’ve yet to see anything that leads me to believe so.
Jalen on Saturday:
Average Distance to Go on 3rd Down Passes: 8.75 yards
Average Passing Yards on 3rd Down: 16.25 yards
We've talked around it, but it also needs to pointed out that the man didn't even have a few dud series before he warmed up. He just came right in and fucking won it. Shit, the first pass he threw was converting a 3rd & 12.
In the 2nd pic you can see the exact moment UGA gave up Jalen's run TD. Jalen's first step is to the pylon and their safety's first step is straight downhill.
Thompson was destroyed last night.
Hellams says he is locked in with Bama.
So Tua is having surgery on the ankle that he injured on the 4th play of the game? Makes sense
So both ankles?
Already had it I'm pretty sure
Tua missed out on POY. Amazing how playing against 4 of the top 15 defenses(s&p+ rankings) in 5 weeks hurts your stats compared to playing none in the top 50.
Dangit. Rumors heating up that Gattis to Maryland as OC.
Fuck off lox
That is one dumb ass decision. Could backfire badly for him
That’s a bad move for Gattis.
I know that but I assumed it was on the ankle he hurt in the 4th and not the 1st
The last time we has an OC with his head already at his new job it did not work well. How horrible an idea would it be for Saban to just tell Lox "thanks and bye" and promote Gattis to OC and Enos to Co-OC?
I wish this would happen as well. Not a fan of an OC with divided attentions
I'm getting sick of our coaches being poached every year during playoff prep and early signing period
At the same time maybe he won't won't have time come up with a game plan to remove our offensive strengths in order to confuse a great defense.
The only alternative is to hire shittier coaches. I have a feeling I know which one would make you more sick.
Jeff Allen’s Twitter handle is adorable.
Interesting that’s he coming up...guess they’re doing daily rehab or something with Tua?
I have a hard time imagining there's a more important assignment
Hey fellow champs, super OT but had my iPhone stolen and don't want to pay $10012447730734077205737....best place to get a used iPhone 7 or 8?
Is Lox assigned to a certain area for recruiting? Having a discussion with my boss about the impact his leaving will have on Bama recruiting
Yea man. The Maryland area
Tua got smoked by Murray for the AP Player of the year so the Heisman is a foregone conclusion. Hate that for him because of the season he had
Well I know that but I'm wondering what that includes. I'm gonna show him not just kids from there that came to bama but other schools too.
Here are his top all-time commits in his career:
Let's just let Q break Murray in half at the end of the month.
Saban sending Butch Jones recruiting in Knoxville today is absolutely hilarious
That means Jones is now a coach, correct? Only coaches can recruit?
No. Locksley is off road so we get to replace him with an analyst.
