Doesn’t matter. Men, women, children, the elderly
No. Moorhead was the OC. When Moorhead left and Franklin didn't think enough of Gattis to make him OC, Gattis left.
Missed this earlier, Carolina actually has a nice short write up on his accomplishments so far in his career, so first I'd refer you to it: https://www.panthers.com/team/coaches-roster/lance-taylor
I'm not a Carolina fan, nor do I watch a significant amount of their games, but it's not surprising (and pretty typical of a franchise) to make moves like this after an extremely disappointing season where they went into it with playoff expectations (their last half of the season was abyssmal and their passing game production fell off hard from recent years), especially coming off of a proficient season in terms of guys targeted/number of players with rec. TD's in 2017.
Obviously I am going to be a bit biased here but what I can say is he drew high praise from Saban during his time as a GA here and left with high recommendation. Everywhere he has been thus far has seen an increase in production from his positional group, and Stanford guys including McCaffrey himself credit a lot of his success to LT.
A question I'd ask in response to yours would be, who is an available top tier WR coach that we should realistically instead be interested in? Tee Martin? A guy who would be in and out in a year or two as he's obviously looking for an elite coordinator job... On top of this, there is the fact that WR coach is arguably the least important of all on field slots (not saying it isn't important, Gattis showed us this). Whoever we bring in isn't going to ruin our current corps and will likely learn from being around a group as talented as them.
At the very worst, he would be an average/young coach with too much Bama in him and his best days still ahead that will recruit his ass off from GO. I haven't sat across a table and talked X and O's with a mind like Saban so I'm easily impressed by somebody like Taylor in that regard, but I have sat across the table from an elite bagman in a younger Lance Thompson that was recruiting some of our St. Paul's boys, and I can say without a doubt I'd rather have Taylor representing us in front of mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, uncle and who the hell ever else alongside x-recruit. Toss him on a guy like Fleming and we'll be in it to the end.
I know it won’t happen. Just reminiscing our Oline going forward one yard on every snap no matter what
I can’t fight either :(
Who exactly would you like them to hire as a WR coach? Who do you really feel you know enough about to be wow'd with the hire?
Dbl, out of all the people to chide someone for having an opinion....
Gotta find you someone wearing lululemon
Sheeiitt dem boys be lawyered up!
It's not really about having an opinion, I'm just genuinely baffled when someone has a super strong take on an obscure position coach. You know little to nothing about him. This isn't some retread coach that's been all over the SEC that you know a lot about. Sure if we got the guy from Okie St, I'd be thrilled. Clemson keeps pumping them out. Maybe their guy? Outside of that? I'm just not going to pretend to be some expert on WR coaching possibilities. The guy doing the hiring is pretty good so I'll default to what he thinks. The last couple ones he hired have been pretty solid.
Fuck it, I'm in
He will walk in a house in a Bay Area suburb, a Jersey guido-packed neighborhood, or Flint fucking Michigan and be able to relate to everybody inside them.
One of those guys that gets along with literally everyone, while being a genuinely good guy. Older brother type bagman, not middle aged white man in a suit we may not be able to trust.
You pretend to be an expert on everything else, so why not WRs?
I only talk about things I know. Random WR coaches aren't on that list.
Also an expert on not knowing
I appreciate the background. Really what I was looking for. All I was seeing was people say he’d be great and he played at Alabama.
Well fuck yeah. This is the guy I want. Give him stacks of cash and tell him to reel 'em in
Hopefully a guy who would stick around for a few years as well and try to work his way into an OC gig at his alma mater
I don't think anyone said he'd be great. You just questioned his qualifications like he was some mortgage broker we hired to be a WR coach and a few people pointed out he'd been a position coach at the highest level.
Obviously very secure about it
If Enos went to Miami and Jalen is gone, is it reasonable to assume he’d consider strongly following Enos to Miami?
And you spent an hour arguing about a coach that’s not even on staff anymore. I guess we are even.
This is embarassing
A coaching job at Bama
I'd think Maryland and Miami would both be in the mix. But when I was scrolling twitter for the Jr pro announcement I saw TCU in some report. So no one seems to have any clue.
Can he coach WRs? I kid, I kid.
Exactly. If he gets it, I would be surprised if he wasn't at Saban's retirement presser as a part of the remaining staff. That's part of the draw.
I love the tide, god, my country, guns, fuckin chicks, and freedom(in that order, btw) and I do it all in overpriced comfortable sweatpants.
What about the special needs?
I’ve heard no mention of that at all. Are there rumblings somewhere?
Extremely. But then again, I’m not a grown man judging other people’s choice of leisure/workout wear.

I’m not on reddit. Will you pose two questions for me.
1. Which side is Tua on in the race war?
2. How many pairs of Lululemon joggers does he own
Stoutland would be fucking incredible. Don’t care about his recruiting. He was an elite OL coach
Tua is on the black side because of Najee
We weren't arguing about the coach. We were arguing about what I saw with my 2 eyes.

Will Miami's platoon of fullbacks and tight ends wear lululemon joggers during the upcoming season?
We should probably start mentally preparing for Saban to hire Dooley as OC
When is Thompson supposed to announce his final decision? And are we supposed to hear anything about mack/jennings or is it just assumed that they'll be back?
I think the NFL entry deadline is Jan 14
He was doing so well until the mayo comment
