Do you think Clemson fans are sitting around saying , "Man that is great that we are winning nattys but shit I really wish our coach wasn't such a new money redneck." Hell no. They are sitting around counting their nattys and talking about how great it is to be a Clemson fan now.

And I'm Jewish for God's sake. If he wants to sell all these kids on Jesus and how great Jesus is and how they can love Jesus together, bring that shit on if it's going to land 5 star after 5 star.

Ehhhh....you’re half right. If he was stacking Nattys for us I think I’d still wish he wasn’t such a corny bastard and would express those thoughts privately or ITT. But I would take whoever wins the most regardless of personality as long as they don’t get us on the road to the death penalty.

I’d go to the mat for him against opposing fans as is tradition of course because he would be our corny bastard.

For whatever reason did not expect that and LMAO at bring that shit on

If you're looking for progressive college football coaches, you may be looking for a really long time.

Saban is one in a million in a lot of ways.

Also I really want this kid- Xavier Worthy. He is from Fresno which is in the Central Valley and a pretty lightly recruited area, but he plays against good competition. I think this kid would be ranked much, much higher had he been able to camp this spring. These highlights are pretty unreal. For a kid to be 6'1 and be running away from people like this...wow. I think we offered like 2 weeks ago. Would love to add him to what could be an insane WR class.

Came in 8th in the CA state 100m as the only sophomore competing and supposedly ran a faster time than Ruggs did in HS.

I don’t think it has to do as much with wanting a progressive coach as much as it is wanting someone who doesn’t intertwine religion and politics into their job. I’d say the overwhelming majority of college coaches are right-leaning, most of them are just smart enough not to bring it up.

Obviously winning trumps everything. Jeremy Pruitt is a new money redneck too and I left him off the list because he doesn’t put off that “live, laugh, love” vibe like the others I listed.

I think the problem lies more so in whether that person in genuine or not. I may not agree or want to hang out with Dabo personally, but I can respect his views and beliefs and personality because I think it’s genuinely who he is. The worst are people who are fake and intentionally try to gain from something they don’t truly believe or live.

Dabo’s personality is polar opposite from Saban’s, but they are just alike In their ability to stand firm in their beliefs and don’t pander to the media or people like you to make you like them. Love them or hate them they don’t give a shit. They just want to win rings.

    This kid too

We’ve touched on the Virginia standout several times throughout the spring as it’s become increasingly clear where he sits on UA’s wish list, which is right at the top with Leary. In our latest update with Johnson he told us he’s talked to almost every staff member at UA, he’s FaceTimed with Nick Saban on multiple occasions, and more. We dug some more on the latest with Johnson and we’re told they recently conducted a virtual visit with the Tide staff that was led by wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins. What consisted of that visit? Pretty much what you would think. Nick Saban spent time on video chat, then they walked throughout the facilities, meeting with different heads of different departments. The Tide has pitched Johnson the idea that he’ll be used like Jerry Jeudy in the offense. Talking to those familiar with the recruitment, Johnson is a very good culture fit at Alabama with the way the program goes about things. He’s a high work ethic, no-nonsense type of person that meshes well with the Tide program. Another note we’ve learned is that Johnson is currently working out with Tide defensive back Demarcco Hellams while Hellams is home during the coronavirus outbreak. With the summer visit window shrinking, sources have relayed that in-person visits -- Johnson’s March 23 visit to Alabama was cancelled — aren’t’ going to matter as much at this point with the uncertainty. It’ll be more about relationships he has with different coaches. A decision is expected before the start of Johnson’s senior season, possibly in July. Who is the Tide’s chief competition? LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, and Oklahoma, which are all pressing for the four-star wideout.

Someone gimme some more info on Brian Thomas. Obviously a beast but how deep are our ties to him? When a LSU homer like Shea Dixon CBs him to us, we must be cooking with gas.

    Latest article on him.

Alabama wide receiver target Brian Thomas Jr. has been one of the main focuses of the Crimson Tide staff thus far in the 2021 recruiting cycle. UA was able to get the Walker (La.) product on campus for Junior Day in February before the coronavirus shut down in-person recruiting for the spring.

In the time since Thomas has stayed connected with his area recruiter Pete Golding once or twice a week, as well as wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins. He says Bama is one of the schools recruiting him hardest.

“(Coach Wiggins and I) did do a Zoom meeting the other day and they were showing me some plays and stuff and how I would fit into the offense,” Thomas told BamaOnLine.

Thomas has made it it to Tuscaloosa three times in his recruitment thus far and has been able to get a good feel about the program.

“It’s not just about the sports, it’s the program education-wise, too,” he said of what’s impressed him about the school.

During the first round of the NFL Draft last month, Thomas got a call from UA head coach Nick Saban shortly after Henry Ruggs III was drafted by the Oakland Raiders as the first wide receiver off the board.

“It was an honor to me to have coach Saban call me during the draft and tell me how that could be me in a couple years,” Thomas said.

On his last visit to UA in February, Thomas had the chance to say hi to freshman quarterback Bryce Young.

“He was just introducing himself and talking about how he just got to Bama and it was a nice school,” Thomas said, adding that who’s manning the quarterback position is an important factor in his own personal decision.

With coronavirus impacting all aspects of life, Thomas says it’s probably changed things for him a little bit.

“It hasn’t really affected my recruitment, but it probably has changed my decision timeline,” he said. “I was probably going to make a decision before the season and try to get all the visits in right now, but it’s probably going to be pushed back some.”

Thomas hasn’t narrowed his list to any set finalists. He does say Alabama will get an official visit. Many feel the race could boil down to the Tide and LSU.

    14COMMENTS
“Just probably the school and the atmosphere, and the coaching,” Thomas said of why he could see himself at Bama. “Just going there and be able to take my talent to the next level.”

At 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, Thomas is rated the No. 9 wide receiver and the No. 62 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Would properly sate the guys wanting big bodied receivers at the very least, for sure.

If Saban got on facetime with this kid and toured the facilities virtually, he's probably a 5 star in reality.

I think I was one of the biggest Dabo advocates ITT when the discussion over him originally started, and one of the ones most confident we would have a good shot bringing him over as long as momma Swinney was still in good health in Alabama, but goddamn, that video was hard to watch.

Whoever comes in, just makes sure they can stack the roster. Give me Pruitt if it means he'll leave us with a competitive roster for a better coach over a guy who can manage 1-2 more wins a year and leave us with borderline top 10-15 classes, and a solid 2-4 year roster rebuilding period for the next guy.

some schools like Bama, Ohio St, Texas, etc probably won't be impacted. But the finances of college athletics are gonna be forever impacted by this pandemic and the toll it's taking on colleges and universities. Lotta states gonna be making cuts to higher ed (even more than normal) and it might be tough for schools to keep justifying ballooning salaries for coaches. Need a lot of federal bailout money for states to spend on higher ed

That would have certainly pushed AJ down a spot in the qb ranking, and likely Tua too. (If Brodie stayed healthy) Could you imagine if in 2025 everyone said that looking back the two best qbs in Bama history had the names Brodie and Bryce?
