Yeah that year at Pitt was insane. Different time though.
Calvin Johnson’s last year at Tech was pretty special
Very true - he was the focal point of our offense, people knew the ball was coming his way every play and no one could stop it
Troy Edwards final year at La Tech was absurd
140/1996/27 including 21/405/3 vs #4 Nebraska
I don't think he ever had a single good punt in a game.
I think I remember cheering a 38 yarder once before I checked myself and continued booing him again without mercy.
That's it. Even his best punts are maybe 40 yarders, and that's like 1 out of 20.
i'm fairly confident any of us could be that bad
I could spend all day drinking Natty and Beam on Dauphin Island beach with no sunblock and punt the ball 14 yards
He has a 33.6 yard gross average after 26 career punts, 4 of which went 40+ yards (41,44,50,&51) and 3 of which went under 15 yards (12,13,&14). That is horrible. But it feels so much worse following JK’s mastery.
Pretty positive at least one of those 50 yarders was one that went 15 yards and then rolled 35+. I remember laughing about it in the stands.
one of the punters when i was in high school managed to punt the ball backwards multiple times in one game, so like it could be worse. not by much, but it could be.
Both happened against aTm in ‘18. Does that help your recollection?
Oh and he’s never downed one inside the 20...
He's the Elizabeth Holmes of punters
What makes it even worse is how defeated he is trotting back to the sideline. Looks like a 10 year old running back to the dugout after watching strike 3
When you’ve got a 12 and a 14 yard punt on your record woof.
Depends on Quinerly imo and defensive improvement. The reports are he’s good but 1) we have heard that before about a player who has sat out and 2) he wasn’t at Villanova. Bruner should be a big help defensively and on the boards which is huge.
I think people are discounting the loss of Kira a bit. Hard to replace a possible lottery pick off of a team that went 16-15 last year, so that’s why I think Quinerly should be so important.
Regardless, the roster has more talented depth that last season for sure and if the new guys come ready, it’s certainly cause for optimism.
Agreed 100%. JQ is the piece that is going to make this thing go. If he can be a consistent distributor and keep the defense honest from outside he will have slashing lanes with how we play. He seems to be pretty solid around the rim so that should suit him well.
Bruner and the added size down low will make things much easier for us as well. We hopefully won’t be getting only one shot each time down the floor. We should be much better at offensive rebounding which will open up kick outs for a bunch of guys who can shoot.
If Petty comes back we have a legit chance to make some noise. We are good without him but with him we become a real legit top 25 team imo. We have the firepower and if the defense improves like it should with added size down low, we could really be special.
Summer camp thread jostled a memory of the first time I met podcast host and Wickles pitch man Hunter Johnson. It was at David Hobbs summer basketball camp, probably 1995, so we're 9-10 years old. Camp is playing 4 tournament games at once running the width of Foster's Auditorium. The whole place suddenly comes to a stand still in observance of the screaming match taking place between 9-year old camper Hunter Johnson and college aged camp counselor David Hobbs Jr.. Dave.Jr. was either coaching the opposing team or reffing Hunter's game, I don't remember, but Hunter was arguing calls. I want to say he was arguing about no calls on 3-second lane violations. They get into it and Hunter won't let it go, it's a scene. Dave Jr. ends up giving Hunter a double tech and "ejecting" him from the game, and by eject I mean he banished Hunter to a stall in the men's bathroom until the game was over. Craig James Mike Leach style. Shit was hilarious.
HoJo arguing defensive seconds at the age of 10 in a bball camp scrimmage is the most on-brand thing Ive heard in a while

sure you can argue sample size but also he was awful in the 9 mpg he played
What’s your starting 5?
Also, I was led to believe by Oats that Quinerly was the best player on our team last year, he just couldn’t play. Is that bullshit?
i highly doubt a former 5* is truly as bad as the numbers i posted suggest. plus he's had another year of nothing but practice. however, it could be a lot of hope building from oats. additionally, theres a difference in showing out in practice vs in a game.
personally, i'd be hopeful even without the things oats has said about him. but we will just have to wait and see how it goes.
Damn, I was starting to actually get excited for basketball and y’all sucked all the optimism out of the air. Fuck me, NIT 4lyphe.
Who else are we on in the Midwest
Jager Burton is from right across the river
That’s fucking hilarious
Cant believe Josh would do Owsley like this
i'm not sure which is worse: the raiders logo tat or jacobs numbers being mirrored
i guess the camera probably mirrored it though
Yeah, it’s the numbers that are the thing that’s off about Josh Jacobs
one side of his face seems to have been stung by a giant bee
also everything else about it is terrible
All-SEC 10 game schedule confirmed.
Hmmmm so is there a chance that we don't start with UGA? We were supposed to have them 9/19
when can we expect to see the new schedules?
SEC Championship 12/19
Can confirm that Mac will not start the UGA game.
Lmao so cute yall think that's gonna stick
Remember when we thought we might have a football season this fall? Simpler times.
Tiffin is going to be so salty if we play football this year... Sad!
Football Lives Matter (No Dabo)
southlick how much therapy have you had to go through to get over this traumatic experience?
No he could be awesome, we just have no idea. The kid was a 5*, the talent is there. Oats’ whole thing is the system... maybe he’s a fit for our system and wasn’t for Villanova. It’s entirely possible and hopefully that’s the case. Some people thrive in structured offense, some thrive with freedom.
Or maybe he just wasn’t able to dominate at 18? That’s totally understandable too.
Honestly Oats strikes me as a no bullshit type of guy and if he said he’s good, he’s probably good.
but he also said we should make the tournament last year
Sorry for all the conflicting thoughts, but such is Alabama bball
Heaven got another angel today
