Other than MSU, any conference teams that y’all thought looked better than expected?
I don’t think I ever said anything here about it, but I definitely thought mac was going to be trash. Dude looked fantastic yesterday. Dropped a couple of absolute dimes in there
I thought Florida’s offense looked way better than I expected
Florida looked good. Trask getting the full-on Mullen whispers.
I think either or both Mississippi schools will trip somebody else up.
yeah I thought that yesterday... Lane is going to get somebody this year. And leach already has
Rewatching - would have liked to see a better performance from Eboigbe and Dale.
LB’s look great
It’s weird to say given the last couple of years that LB is far and away our strongest defensive position group.
Did Joshua McMillon play any last night? I don’t remember seeing him.
Three of the top four tacklers were DBs. The starting four in the secondary had roughly half of the team’s total tackles.
Me no likey.
Didn't see much of Shane Lee out there.
I don't remember seeing him until the 4th qtr
I think Moses and Harris played most or all of the defensive snaps.
Random thoughts over morning coffee, vape pen, and leftover Indian:
I don't think there's a better pair of LBs in the nation. Moses' leadership and QB-ing allows Harris to fly around like a man possessed. They're going to be hell this year
Surtain looked good I think, in the sense his name wasn't called much
Safeties played alright. Were def around the ball all night, but also missed a bunch
LaBryan Ray is alive and not in a cast after 1 week
Will fucking Anderson
Chris Allen was in the backfield a lot. Would be nice for him to take that next step
Our 1s are insane. A little worried about depth, but our starting 11 on O can win a natty
Best OL since the ND massacre
Not sure about Heisman, but Najee is going to feast the year. Over 100/game, possibly 20 TDs in regular season
Sanders -- woof. Hopefully it was first live action in more than a year/2nd team/etc. Underwhelming
Bryce will be fine, I bet we see lots of progress throughout the season. But this is Mac's team, and it's not close
Metchie is going to have a huge year with so much attention on Smitty and Waddle
The only team I see that can possibly withstand our OL for 4 quarters is Clemson. Other than that, we're back to a point where we can impose our will on teams. Haven't had that the past few years.
Coffee and leftover Indian food?
This happened to me once and I ended up going hiking in the desert and having to take the biggest shit ever
Tomlinson is an absolute wrecking ball. Really underrated here. Insane to think those DLs he was on, he was a depth guy most of his career
Rashaan with a nice fumble recovery and return today. Now to work on not punching someone in the face
I hope this week is horrible for all of you...........
............because on Saturday you guys will have a great day
Daboll calling plays like a wizard up in Buffalo.
Texas A&M at Alabama (-13)
What's the 1H number?
They don't have one yet
King Henry with 2 TDs. Showing hops on his 2nd of the day.
Anyone know if a replay is up anywhere yet?
It's missing the first couple of three and outs, but it will do until someone comes out with a 30-minute version.
I came away pleased with both QB's which was best case scenario for us. Mac looks way more confident and made some NFL level throws yesterday while also protecting the ball well and commanding the offense. He had a couple little mental errors, but unlike in the past, he didn't visibly show that they affected him. I want to see him against Georgia's defense, but he looked better than I expected, even if it was Mizzou with our OL/WR's to work with.
Bryce showed flashes of what makes him special as a prospect. From stepping up in the pocket when it started to collapse and throwing that absolute dart to Waddle, to showing off his agility/ability go buy time on a few plays and get outside and scramble for the sticks. For playing his first collegiate game against a conference opponent with a fraction of the amount of practice he should have gotten to experience through the spring/fall, I think he did well. He's probably 5'10-1/2 185lbs soaking wet right now, but the heat he puts on a ball is like he's 6'6 250 with a 7 foot wingspan. It's kind of an anomaly how much zip he has for his size.
Not worried about Sanders yet, honestly. Watching Najee's early season woes last year behind what started out as a very pedestrian run blocking line and comparing it to the back he is now, you have to give him a pass until he is actually getting carries behind the 1's, because our 2nd team OL is abysmal right now.
Defensively, Moses, Harris, and Anderson are all gonna be terrors. Will seemed to be getting pressure on almost every play. His explosiveness is elite but his strength for a 235 pound true freshman is insane. Coming in and shoving around 20 year old, 300lb veteran power 5 OL... he's gonna be unfair as a sophomore/junior, but will probably be key to winning it all THIS year.
Also, while the rest of the country looked mostly woefully unprepared, we looked like we never missed a practice through spring until now. Just another testament to the program Saban has built.
I was a bit foggy and distracted while watching last night, but I thought Jobe more than held his own. The late TD was frustrating, and I don’t think our conditioning is quite there yet, but the D looks to be back on track assuming we can stay relatively heathy.
Malachi Moore was also impressive from what I remember.
When you have a freshman playing DB and don't notice him, it's usually a good sign.
Impressive young man as well.
Jobe, Surtain, and Moore all looked great but thought Battle was tentative and out of position a lot, missed a few tackles.
Wright was in position but missed a couple tackles.
Didn’t see either of them make plays on the ball or have a PBU, mostly just saw then in the box. They didn’t go deep a ton though. Was impressed with Missouri’s QB
Helluva play by Trevon Diggs for the Cowboys just now.
I honestly thought Auburn looked pretty solid, comparatively. Kentucky just doesn't have anybody explosive on offense. They have to go 13 plays to score a TD.
Nix looked better and they had some actually passing plays that had more than 1 option.
Some PFF grades and stuff
Josh Jobe made a fantastic play in 1-on-1 coverage down the sideline.
10 targets - 8 catches
I asked Champs why Levi can't be a good corner in the league. Some of you said he's not big enough, some said he's not fast enough. I always had faith in him because he's a baller and relentless. Too bad you all had no faith in our brethren.
thought he would look like trash based on what? He definitely didn't look like trash against Auburn or Michigan
Mac is at the top? No way, round table posters here told me he sucks.
Does DoubleDutchBus stan Mac harder than dblplay1212 did for AJ?
I hate to break this to you but Levi is pretty hated by Bills fans. He hasn't had the best career so far
Nah not for real, just tired of the whole back up QB being the most popular player on campus, when he’s not the best QB on the team at the moment. I tried telling folks that this wasn’t like Jalen/Tua.
Bottom 4 is all tight ends. Completely shameful stuff
Which is weird cause he graded out so well last year.
