If you can’t appreciate how good the NBA talent is, I don’t know what to tell you. You think MJ or Scottie could play defense on Steph? No, no they couldn’t. You can appreciate the 90s and 2000s era without taking away from the current era.

Man, we’ve really hit the dog days of the off-season when we’re debating the NBA.

Offseasons are so much better when you’re a champion. Don’t care how long it lasts.

Gave up on the NBA for years because I was tired of the officiating. Watched the playoff bubble and now I’m hooked again. NBA basketball is incredible right now there’s so many good players to pull for. The meme that Jordan was killing plumbers is true compared to what’s going on in the league right now

The one issue I do have is that the current NBA fan for the most part is awful. Analytics have ruined it from a discussion standpoint and it seems like most fans spend more time latching on ti one player and hating another that they can’t just appreciate great players

Agree on both points. It's always been this way, it's not new at all, but the way the NBA is officiated has always bothered me. I'll never stop watching, but the way the star players play by a different set of rules than everyone else is super lame...but that's how it always has been in the NBA. You have a little of that in other sports but it's off the charts in the NBA. I'll go back to yelling at kids to get off my lawn now.

Is that WR transfer from OSU an immediate starter? Seems like a weird pick up in the sense that while we don't have many proven guys at WR we have tons of 4/5 stars. Definitely don't lack depth at WR

Key word here is “proven” IMO and I think he’s a definite starter over Bolden. Out of all the positions, I think WR is the one where we can really use an impact transfer (besides punter).

Yah I agree. Of all the positions on offense and defense , WR is probably the one I feel least good about. That's a relative term though considering we are stacked at every position.

I feel good about the talent at receiver. I just want to see the younger guys get as many reps as possible because I think we’re gonna need them more down the stretch. Kinda like 2017.

Is it a stretch to say this upcoming season will likely decide if we 4-peat, barring serious injuries? I can’t tell if I’ve got too much Bama in me with that take or just the right amount. I just tend to think that this new transfer rule is going to make Saban, and therefore Bama, even better.

So if this accurate, Young Bull has all star production when he gets the same amount of shots you’d expect for an all star.

If one team could have won eight titles in a row, it wasn’t top tier.

League was exceptionally top-heavy and slow compared to the modern game.

Sexton has been awesome this year and showed a lot of flashes last year too. He gets shit on constantly in Cleveland by his teammates. It’s happened since before he even arrived. I wish he’d find a way out of that cesspool. If he had ANY talent around him he could lead that team to the playoffs. But it’s him and Garland.

How many is too many in a row? The Bulls won 6 out of 8 whereas Bama won 3 of 4 from 09-12. We “could have” won 6 out of 8 and college football is as top-heavy as its ever been.

In reference to football, at least at the SEC level, its golden age was around ‘98-‘10 in terms of competitive parity.

No repeat SEC champ, nine different teams played in Atlanta with six programs winning at least one SEC title, five programs won six of the 12 available national titles (with one having an uncrowned perfect season), and the conference games were almost always highly competitive and exciting.

Of course, once 2010 happened and Nick decided “that’s enough of this three-loss bullshit”, it was game over on that.

In addition to what he said about looking forward to the upcoming end of the recruiting dead period, Saban had a couple of interesting quotes from tonight's special edition of Hey Coach.

-- He said 24 total players missed the A-Day Game due to COVID-19, including several starters.

"I don't think A-Day was sort of a typical A-Day with 24 players out because of COVID. Only six positive tests but 18 guys quarantined -- or something like that. There was 24 total guys, several starters, lots of backups. But it was a positive that a lot of other players got to play a lot of plays, but I also think we have a lot of players that didn't play that will make a strong contribution to the team next year and I think that'll be important to us being successful."

-- He again praised Bryce Young and suggested he's the No. 1 quarterback exiting the spring.

"We've got a new quarterback, who made a lot of progress. I think Bryce had a really good spring. We've still gotta develop backups and competition at that position, which is very important in football to be successful."

Nothing like having to kick dirt off of the face of your 3 wood and stomping down the divot from your first attempt at a swing which didn’t even reach the ball. He must have hit 6” behind the ball.
