I'm on board with this. Great range at safety, keeps Thompson pipeline strong.
I want to be happy about circling back to Perry and Fegans because I wanted both initially. But it almost makes me question if we are missing on people higher.
Could just as easily be further evaluation that has occurred during their seasons though. We knew we would have the ability to come back to them if we liked what we saw.
Seems like its time to start playing guys who want to be out there. Some kind of message needs to be sent.
Denver is going to Texas, probably. Kid loves the school and they've been playing well. Can't say I'd love to go play defense for Sark, but they've all but promised him a starting spot as a freshman based on his comments. Can't win those recruitments when the player wants "guaranteed" PT as a freshman.
Give me Perry over Finkley, miss or not. Finkley's first step is our current problem on the DL.
Maybe we are just banking on transfers with the 32 rule this offseason and are taking a bigger class than expected now. We've also started to turn the heat back up on guys like Sam McCall lately, who more or less said he'd decommit from FSU if we pushed hard enough. Go ahead and offer Singletary too and get him on board.
tippy toe :/
If you can't concentrate on football because you're too busy shooting marketing videos for Milos, then you've got bigger problems than Wild Bill calling you out.
I would guess it's more about a lot of young players that haven't seen much adversity at all. It's really really hard to repeat for any level of athletes. There is a reason we have only done it once during this run.
Only one repeat and only two undefeated seasons. Nothing is guaranteed, and it seems like a lot of our team is struggling mightily to grasp this concept.
More from Bill, slightly more reassuring:
“I think this morning with workouts, everybody came in with high intensity,” Anderson said. “We know that feeling now. We have to move past that feeling and get ready for Mississippi State. Everybody’s holding their head up high, and we’re just gonna keep moving forward and keep getting better.”
Is it young players though? Will is seemingly calling out guys who are on the field with him and on the defensive side of the ball we’ve got a lot of experienced guys.
Bunch of players who aren’t the primary contributors or leaders get to ride along for the party of a National Championship season > starters/leaders head to the NFL > new starters take it for granted that they will win because they have the Alabama A on > get their ass handed to them as they all look around at each other > realize not winning titles sucks at the end of the year > step-up as leaders and understand the process > win title
the circle of life
A. Fucking. Men.
We’re about to find out what the true character of this team is. And even if we don’t win it all this year, it’s going to go a long way towards next year (and 23) both of which should be ‘our’ years.
That being said, plenty of starters returning on defense that that shouldn’t really be the case on that side of the ball. But I guess it’s dudes who don’t really know how to lead or buy in. Battle, Hellams, Harris, Jobe. Disappointing.
I think Will and Mathis are really trying. But they are the only ones. Losing Allen really hurt in this respect as well.
Boutte out for the season at LSU, they may not win another game.
he was everything for that offense. Half the time they just tossed it up to him. They’ll struggle for sure. And they were already bad, woof.
They announced like 3 other dudes out vs Florida as well. Wonder how many of these are truly out due to injury and how many are “opting out”. Shits about to unravel big time.
Javon Baker suspended from the team? I can imagine how that went down.
They said he was suspended before the A&M game but idk.
Thought we really liked where we were for Denver.
I can imagine there's a lot of frustration in the WR room right now. Need some guys to step up on and off the field there.
bill would have fared better against fury than wilder did saturday night
We did, probably still do. Texas has made it more interesting it seems. He pushed back his commitment to signing day at Texas' staff request and has been harping on his chance to come in and start at Texas lately.
Greg on FB gave Golding a big pass. He said our DL is incredibly average and not very deep, and that’s where our problems start. Addressed the lack of leadership and said it was clear players took multiple plays off during the game.
Bama wins out if…go.
Man I went to dump big money on UF as soon as the Boutte announcement was made, and they had pulled the game. :(
Leaders step up, young guys start doing what they need to do to get on the field, and we get a little luck.
One of the young receivers step up, someone forces Owens off the field so we don't allow double digit sacks against UGA with him trying to block Anderson/Smith, leaders on defense emerge, Drew makes it back close to 100%, Billingsley and Christian Harris stop looking bored during the games, Demarco may need to hit the bench if he can't at least be a consistent box safety, he already gets burnt a handful of times as it is, we find Branch a spot where he's comfortable and can play fast.
To name a few.
Apparently, the rumor originated from Peter Griffin. Surprising.
Isn’t he usually spot on?
Peter Griffen has been spot on 99.9 percent of the time.
Colts or ravens?
Wasn't he right about most of the coaching search in 2019 and wrong on just about everything else? Fuck, I don't remember at this point.
I’m good on college advice, I always lose on NFL but I took the Colts +7 1/2
Yeah he was spot on with the coaching search.
Maybe it’s true and Javon is just trying to figure out who’s talking. He does seem to be refuting it with the emojis though.
Could be that Javon is embarrassed, idk Peter Griffen isn’t the only person with connections I saw saying it.
Is this a good list to be on?
Is the Peyton/Eli MNF option over?
Nah, they’re contracted for I think 10 games.
Gotcha. I'm guessing tonight isn't one of them then. Sucks, it's made the games much more watchable.
What’s nuts is he’s in one of the worst eras for it as well; I’d be curious to see YPC averages on that because I’m guessing all of those guys got more carries than King Henry.
I think they come back next week or week after mext
Henry is starting to catch the ball a lot more too
Hmm, I took the ravens -7.5
They'll be back week 7 I believe.
I took his tweet as a confirmation.
Guess that was a bad call. Lol
