i just had a flashback to DJ Dale making the most uncharacteristic beast-like tackle against UGA where he was getting blocked and used one arm to just shove the RB down. it was unreal.

If I had been talented and committed enough to play football at Alabama, I’d definitely announce online my return for my senior year even if it was a given.

First off, I didn’t disparage his NFL prospects so don’t lump me in with these other guys. Second, I like DJ as a guy and a leader but I would like to see a lot more production out of nose tackle. He’s a good run stopper but he doesn’t have that extra gear to which we’ve become accustomed from the position.

 

What happened to DJ? He was the best of the defensive line prospects as a true freshman, and then was just unbelievably mediocre the last two years. Did the injury affect him that much or were the initial results in 2018 just a flash?

 

maybe roach isn’t a great d-line coach? flash in 19 then disappear for 20 and 21 fits the timeline

My formulas had a “-2” in there for COVID seniors screwing up the number. I’ve updated now and we are at 91 after Metchie. Still a ways to go.
