Steen was supposed to announce yesterday, but I expect he will by the end of the week.
Good luck to him.
I have us at 86 currently. Steen would make 87.
Hell yea huge pickup
Thank goodness. We were pretty desperate for a PG with some experience. Jaden is gonna be great for us, but it will be nice having a guy in place while JQ noodles.
This is perhaps the top PG in the portal for Nate Oats and his staff. He was a priority guy once he decided to transfer and the Bama staff is very excited about landing him. Thrilled might be a better word. A very dynamic guard who filled up the stat line including 41% from 3-point. He averaged close to 20 ppg, 6 rebounds and 4 assists but Oats and company consider him not only a facilitator but a guy who is going to be able to score near the basket and outside. Also deemed a great fit with what UA staff is trying to put together for the 2022 season.
Antoine Pettway was the lead recruiter with Sears (who is from Muscle Shoals) and he's got a great relationship. Also was told being back in his home state was big for him. He was very excited about that possibility initially. As always Nate Oats is heavily involved and per a source close to Sears did a great job of filing him in on not only his role next year but just as important how he fits in with the incoming freshman group that is so talented. Seems like almost everyone was interested in Sears and the Tide held off schools like Texas, Memphis, Florida, LSU, Cincinnati among many others. So Sears was highly sought after. Great job all around by the Bama staff.
The Tide staff has been very thorough and methodical with the portal this year. Finding not only the right talent base but also maturity level is a top priority when adding impact guys for next year. They will keep digging.
The bunker seems to be thinking that Keon is going to transfer to AU
does Sears play D?
Keon is going pro. Him transferring to another school would be dumb af. He’s not going to improve what he’s shown the past two years.
My auburn friends have been talking about this for a couple of weeks now.
A lot of smoke that Jalen Bridges from WVU will be the next to announce they’re transferring here.
Hope he’s better than the last WVU transfer
He's soft AF....doesn't play defense. Decent spot up shooter, can't beat you off the dribble
Shuts down if you get physical with him
Athletic and a good enough defender but cannot create his shot at all. Decent enough spot up shooter but disappears too much
He might be good as a 4th option..but he was supposed to step up this year and didn't.
Da fk I’m supposed to take from that?
He’s not going to change your program or anything but a solid portal addition
Coaching probably we will fix that
Yeah for sure
god I love Herb Jones. What a fucking badass.
Is bob huggins a bad coach now?
Bridges won’t be called on to be the difference maker next year. He just needs to be a solid pick up for the wing position. He’s got length and can shoot. Just do your part and nothing more and he will be fine. He’s not a top 1-2 guy tho.
Then it’s a good addition
Thank you. You’re dismissed.
The insanity of that first pic materializing
I’m here to stay
Add us to your fan of at least
I’m getting a not on herb shirt. Love that dude
he should focus on football Pawl!
Been some more smoke about JQ. Cryptic posts on Twitter by guys who usually are right.
some talk about Akot as well don’t know much in him but he’s big 6-8. Listed as a guard and shot 38% from 3. Averaged 10-3-3 for Boise.
This guy on BOL makes an excellent point regarding Tyler Steen:
What’s taking so long? Sears can pick Alabama in under a week and that’s Alabama BASKETBALL. Alabama football should be a no brainer. Vandy kids are supposively real smart, I’m starting to wonder. Hope we hear something soon rtr tyler!
sure would’ve been nice to watch him develop here.
i havent looked at his stats from this season but last year he was a good bit less efficient than shack with more volume
averaged 16/5/1.5 at 43% from the field and 38% from 3. Shot 75-194 from 3. But he’s also being asked to do much more than he would be here. He’d be mostly a spot up guy and slash as a secondary. Like Primos role last year.
For reference Shack was 16/5/1.5 at 38.5 from the field and 35.1 from 3. 101-288 from 3.
