How many kickoffs went OB for the tide today? I feel like the strategy was about 1 for 7 today. I enjoyed the Drew Sanders play.
Not really... just take up space There were a couple times a lb would fly into the back field and blow past the ball.
Oh man Taulia was absolutely horrendous for Maryland today. He should have transferred somewhere to play like the Sun Belt or something. He isn't a major D1 player
I was starting to get confident again, unfortunately. Mac/Waddle/PS2 and Smith were like the 4 guys we couldn't afford to lose, along with Leatherwood and Dickerson, probably. Clemson with Ross is just the outright favorite, regardless.
Waddle is a phenomenal, incredible player. The most exciting we've had at Bama possibly ever. He's not as irreplaceable on this team, this season, as Mac, PS2 or even arguably Jobe. If there was a year to lose a stellar receiver, it would have been this or last year. Will we be able to reach the same potential we could before? No. Will we still have the offensive capability to beat anybody? Yes. Everything will depend on the defense improving and Mac staying Mac.
This upcoming class of HS freshmen will have finished their entire elementary and middle school education having never seen a Tennessee victory over Alabama.
Fvck Tennessee, fvck Neyland Stadium and fvck Phil Fulmer Good win boys. Our offensive line is the best offensive line since 2012, and I think it might actually be better (BLASPHEMY).
Yeah, I've started sobering up and am full pouty bitch mode over it, ignore slightly spicy takes. Seems like it always happens to not only the best players, but the seemingly best people, too. Excited to see Slade or Baker take the next step, though. Moreso than Christian Harris and Shane Lee starting in the middle last year at least.
Big time. While it sucks for us, Tua broke his fucking hip less than a year ago and he’s starting for the Leonards tomorrow, so he’ll be fine. Really going to miss him, though
My love for waddle greatly outweighs anything I ever felt for Tua. I love WRs and Waddle has been an absolute joy from the jump. I just wanna watch him kill it. I don’t trust this team to win a title so it’s a player appreciation year for me and I just lost the guy that meant the most.. sucks
For sure. What I really meant was that I don’t think Waddle’s injury is as severe as Tua’s and he still went on to go in the first round and make millions. While it sucks hard for us, he’s going to be fine
“I thought the defense played better,” said Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban after the game. “This is probably the best we’ve played, even though there’s some plays in there you can be critical of. I’m sure we’ll do everything we can to get it fixed. But I was proud of the way the guys played. They played with a little more confidence, and we were pretty aggressive overall.”
I mean it seemed pretty clear Saban was shook up about it at halftime and postgame when talking about it. He clearly is upset and probably blames himself. If there’s one thing about Saban he definitely gives a fuck about his players. If not we wouldn’t constantly have ex guys coming back just to chill around the facilities and shit.
Wright and Hellam’s struggles don’t really surprise me too much. Battle should be much better though. Thought he would be a strength, not a weakness. Very disappointing.
Somebody on BOL suggested moving Jobe to safety and Banks to CB. I’ve been high on Banks but I don’t know that it’s the answer with how good Jobe has been at corner this season. And Saban doesn’t make those types of moves mid-season that much. Eddie Jackson to safety worked, but that’s because he was struggling at corner. Jobe is excelling there. It does seem like we just aren’t getting our best 5 on the field in the secondary, however you want to cut it. Branch seems like the next one up to get more snaps.
3 true freshmen in the top 4 overall grades is that shit you do like to see (ateast when they are objectively good grades, not the row of red the defense had after OM).
If I'm ranking Bama's top 4 WRs as NFL players (currently active): 1. Julio 2. Ridley 3. Cooper 4. Jeudy (Though, TBD) If I'm ranking them as college players it's: 1. Julio 2. Cooper 3. Ridley 4. Jeudy Do y'all agree or disagree? Honest question. I didn't see Ridley enough in college to know if he or Amari were more impressive, but I know that I thought Amari was fucking incredible.
