As we referred to in today's nuggets, Alabama is very much involved with Sage Ryan. "Don't sleep on Alabama with Sage Ryan" was the exact quote and that seems even more accurate right now than it did six hours ago. Since the nuggets dropped, Ryan has now tweeted he is announcing this Saturday, which is Halloween. After he tweeted that I've talked to multiple sources on many sides of this recruitment and believe Alabama is trending -- and trending in a big way. I do know people close to him love Saban and that's played a big role. Also moving up the timeline seems to benefit Alabama. But he is cousins with Kevin Faulk and his uncle is Trev Faulk who is one of LSU's all-time best players. Trev is his coach and he played for Saban. So a lot to dig through here. I'm not one to completely rule out the home state, and I won't here, but if I was putting in my Crystal Ball pick right now it would be on Alabama and with some confidence. I won't put the CB pick in until my normal 48 (roughly) hours before, which is what I always try to do. I will be digging until then, but this one is headed in the right direction if you are an Alabama fan.
Good evening gentlemen. I too am close to predicting Alabama here. Waiting for one more source to push me over the top. Talking to Tim, makes me feel better the intel I'm getting is real. Hopefully should have more soon. This would be as impressive a recruiting win this cycle if he does pick Alabama with all the ties he seemed to have to LSU. Story previewing the announcement here.
I bet we’re pushing Ryan on the Minkah role and hopefully he’s eating it up. The only downside is that Louisiana is WSP’s territory.
We really need Ryan or Arnold and I’m still holding out hope on a Marshall flip. Kool Aid is huge but we need one more elite signee in the secondary.
I don’t think O even really cares. He’s got his natty, his new side piece and a $20+ million buyout. He good. An unmotivated coach with a bloated salary and buyout. Not good news for LSU.
Wild because the cycle after the national championship is usually when a program cashes in recruiting wise. LSU should be fucking it up this year and the fact that they’re not shows how perception of them has fallen with Aranda and Brady out the door
I think the violations could end up being kind of bad. Possible LOIC with the bball stuff, the $180k and OBJ as the cherry on top.
Get those 3 before early signing day and then just put all your eggs in the JTT basket and recruit him and him only and if you don't get him then oh well. Since he's taking it to February that is the best option. If we can have in home visits by then pull one of those trips where you send every single coach
We have just had a reign of terror on the state of Louisiana under Nick Saban. You just hate to see it for the coonasses
Knock on wood: Excluding the Nick Saban false positive which obviously doesn't count, we've done a remarkably good job with our covid strategies and keeping everyone negative. Wisconsin is now on their 4th string QB after 2 of their QBs tested positive recently. Florida, Vanderbilt, etc have all had outbreaks. Hopefully we can stay disciplined and keep it up.
Pretty wild if we get Sage. If he commits, we’ve got the: #1CB #1 S #1 DT #1 AND #2 OT #2 WDE #2 OG #2 WR Pretty damn wild. 247 ranks Lawson the #2 MLB as well, just not on the composite
Class of 22. He'll probably change his commitment 3 more times before it's over and end up back with us.
This has happened with quite a few of our five star signees. Neal and your boy Trey Sanders come to kind.
Another non-5 Star was Shyheim Carter. Used to be that when you decommitted from a school you never ended up there. Not the case at all anymore.
We need to get Tosh back on the staff before February. Apparently JTT loved him and we led during his sophomore year. Ryan, Thomas, DL, JTT. #1 football and basketball class in the country.
Also, gotta think Malachi showing out early probably contributed with Sage as well. Toss in Branch pushing for time and reportedly being right there with, or ahead of Moore at some points, that's an easy sell to a young S for early PT that has watched ours this year so far.
