JQ. Good lord.
It's early and the jitters are there but looks like another year of poor ball handling outside of the PG
Want to see a few more games first and a more solidified line up but I agree. I swear to god Reese is worth 4-5 TO every game. Fucker
maybe he should have different colored hair until one of them works out
Wanna see us go on a little run here in the second half and hit a few threes in a row.
how many colors are there? He’s gonna wear them out.
About what I expected for the first half of the first game. Shooting will come. Impressed with the defense so far.
Kira and Quinerly last year would’ve been so fun to watch. They would’ve gotten to the rim at will.
I can’t lie the fact these refs barely are wearing their masks is making me hella nervous.
Bama is the name. Missed layups are our game.
JQ from deeep
28 turnovers.....holy fuck
Double double for Shack already.
Under's looking good
Over/under is 150
Shack decided over the off season he wanted to be a complete player. I’m for it.
Layups still but man we play defense well for the whole possession. Length everywhere
Stop Reese From Shooting Again
Can someone post Reese stat line?
0-4 from 3.
0-4 with 1 rebound and 2 turnovers
basically the baseline affected the game more positively than he did
Man it’s nice to be able to go like 12 deep and still have guys who are pretty good and can hit shots and make plays.
Darius Miles looks pretty solid for a true freshman. Ambrose will get more comfortable but he is active for sure. Gary is able to go and that’s good for wing depth.
Bring on Stanford!!
45 point second half.
I don’t want to place unrealistic expectations on this team but anything short of the elite 8 should result in Nate Oats’ termination
81 points and we shot the ball pretty poorly
did reese play in the 2nd half?
Also forcing 20 turnovers to our 10 feels really really good. Not sure I remember a time where we had 10 or less turnovers
Yes but not a lot and obviously not well
For me with this team the difference will be seeing us elevate our game against elite competition while handling teams with less talent than us with relative ease.
Yes we won’t win every game and we will lose games we shouldn’t, but there’s not a reason we shouldn’t be competitive in every contest.
Three things we learned in Alabama’s 81-57 win over Jax State
Jelly with a shake and birthday cake
You wouldn’t order it at a drive-thru but Alabama fans got to see why Jahvon Quinerly was a McDonald’s All-America in 2018. After a single season at Villanova where he played sparingly, followed by an NCAA-imposed year of exile after transferring to Tuscaloosa, Quinerly, celebrating his birthday, had a strong debut, scoring 18 points, handing out three assists and looking like the kind of point guard that fits the Nate Oats offense to a “T”. Comparisons to Kira Lewis aren’t fair, but it didn’t feel like there was much of a drop-off in his first game. The minutes when he and Jaden Shackelford were on the floor together made Alabama less lengthy on defense but spaced the floor effectively on offense.
Alabama wins with ... defense?
Obviously, Jacksonville State had some first-game rust just as Alabama did. Still, the Crimson Tide held the Gamecocks to 27.5 percent shooting and forced 20 turnovers. The Crimson Tide was clearly more athletic around the rim than last season with Jordan Bruner (who played only 16 minutes, although no one played more than 26 for UA) and James Rojas. The 6-foot-8 Rojas also showed a nice offensive touch although he appears to be playing his way back to game conditioning after sitting out last year with a knee injury.
Chemistry is a tough subject
Despite the win and a good bit of returning experience, Alabama didn’t click on all cylinders. Part of that was a subpar 3-point shooting night (7-of-31) that saw only John Petty Jr. and Quinerly make more than one 3-pointer in the game. Nate Oats’ halftime comments were applicable for the entire game: "We were a little sluggish to be honest with you. We'll get through it. We missed some shots, we have to have some defense turn into offense. Pace hasn't been as fast as I'd like either."
Really excited about JQ, herb, schack, Petty. I think that’s a strong group with tons of experience and good leadership.
Pleased with/intrigued by: primo, Rojas, Ellis, Bruner
please leave the team: Reese
team has the potential to be super deep. Tons of athleticism/speed. I think we can run a lot of teams out of the gym over 40 minutes with our depth. Not too worried about shooting yet.
I remember how blasphemous it was to even suggest that Derrick Henry might be better than Zeke Elliot on this website
And told Richard Pitino to call timeout because he was tired.
How much would y’all pay for a livestream of Saban watching the IB from his house?
Really depends on what he’s wearing tbh
if he pulled that off he would’ve been a living legend for college sports. I remember watching with my dad and we couldn’t believe that we were cutting into the lead.
I don’t know this guy but dying in a car crash with your wife on your honeymoon is incredibly sad.
