What do you learn from Milroe having the same game against USF as he had against MTSU? It doesn’t get him any readier for Ole Miss or A&M. At least this way we learned Buchner shits the bed and Ty isn’t ready.
I'm truly hoping it was a 4D chess move to make it clear Milroe was the best option without a doubt. I hope that we tailor the offense to his skill set. I hope the offensive line wakes the fuck up and mauls people. Hope for the best.
Byrne Notice poll question: Do you want our student athletes to have a podcast studio or would you like to put that towards a new basketball gym?
Looking over the Ole Miss depth chart ... Thread starterJimmyStein Start dateToday at 2:51 PM they are banged up. They have good backup players at some spots (the backup RB, Bentley, can really run) and they have good depth at WR/TE and they have an injury or two there. But, overall, I feel better about this game having studied their depth chart. While it's interesting that their starting def tackle, Stephon Wynn, spent 3-4 seasons at Alabama (before initially transferring to Nebraska), the impactful presence in their front seven is Cedric Johnson ...he is an NFL pass rusher. He is very likely to be matched up with Proctor much of the game. He's from Davidson High in Mobile. Suntarine Perkins is likely to haunt us a handful of snaps for sure. Might he spy Milroe? He's custom built for it, it's just a big ask for a true freshman. Feeling better about the things ... frankly, I submitted that 24-21 prediction based on how I felt two days ago. I would probably go 27-21 right now.
Buchner was playing golf Sunday. Came in to buy beer and some guy 5 feet away from him says to another person “that Tyler Buchner guy sucks” having 0 clue he is standing there
Say something nice Friday! I was really proud of seth mclaughlin last Saturday for not rolling any snaps back to the quarterback. Outstanding improvement in one week! What a leader
By the time it gets to Friday I don't want to read any more about our team, hear any more about them, I'm over them saying how physical they are going to be or calling players only meetings, I don't want to think about Alabama football, I just want 2:30PM CST on Saturday to get here to see if they are worth a shit or if it's more of the same old bullshit.
I wasn’t around to say it at the time, but Proctor’s whiffed block on the sack where he didn’t help Ty up had to be 100% intentional. the terminology i was taught is that it’s a “toro” call - you just kind of move your arms and let them run past. That was a reminder to Ty “you’re not my QB” and possibly payback if he was bitching at the OL in the huddle.
I can't tell if the stuff about players intentionally doing things like this and not playing hard for the other QBs is true or not. I do think the offensive locker room is very dysfunctional and divided. There are too many damn distractions. I've also heard that Milroe and Ty hate each other. I've heard Milroe waves the towel around during the game and high fives Ty and then is a dick in the lockeroom. There are two different faces Milroe puts on. The fact that Saban suspended him tells you that Milroe doesn't have a great attitude all the time. I.e. that suspension tends to support some of what I'm saying above. I get the feeling that Milroe is emotional, can be a good teammate at times, and can be immature whiny and a bitch when things aren't going his way. The culture and attitude surrounding our offense sounds dysfunctional and like the coaches aren't running the show and have lost the lockeroom. Sounds like the train is off the tracks. We aren't playing well fundamentally on offense. We're getting penalities. The players are fighting with each other internally. It's just a disaster.
Losing to Ole Piss during my 2 year olds birthday party is going to really suck. Drunk belligerent dad incoming.
i doubt it was done unilaterally. my OL coach taught us that and he played under stallings and dubose. maybe it shouldn’t happen but it’s a thing.
Nobody wants to talk about it and just want to dismiss it but these kids generating 6 figures a year with NIL has been tough for Saban to adapt to. I’m all for kids getting paid for their name, image & likeness and Im not here arguing against it but I 100% believe it’s been a huge disruption in our program and has been tough to adapt to for Saban.
I think this is a fair assumption on Milroe and likely why he got benched. It also could explain the weird shit Saban has been saying when trying to explain why he didn’t see playing time in Tampa, while not trying to hurt his feelings… because apparently this team is full of a bunch of soft bitches.
Maybe we can bring Galu in as a motivational speaker, but instead of speaking, he whips the shit out of the offense with a cane pole.
Except for Ofc Jalen Milroe, Jalen Hurts, the guy that tried to kill Ty Simpson, Chris Capps, Brandon Avalos, Adrian Hubbard, Tyler Love, the entire 2003 team, everyone of our corners who failed to turn around, that kicker from West Virginia, Burnip last year, any player from Texas and Agiye Hall
