I don’t feel comfortable rooting against other collegiate athletes, I’ll stick to rooting for The Alabama Crimson Tide
I kinda want Oregon to go down to Utah, but I also kinda want Lanning to keep doing well because he’s #1 on the hot board now.
Well that helps a little bit. There’s going to continue to be one or two of those every Saturday the rest of the season though.
Oh man, USC has just checked out. If they don’t come back and beat Cal they are potentially looking at 6 straight losses to end the season at 6-6. Washington, Oregon, UCLA next.
cal is very very bad eventually Riley isn’t going to have a top 5 pick at QB and it’s gonna get real ugly. It may this year
Grinch actually had a somewhat decent reputation (may have not been warranted) when he got hired by Riley at OU. It's going to be incredibly hard for him to get good candidates for that DC job, and like you said, if he doesn't have a top 5 pick at QB and can't score at will... Can't say I expected OU (bad timing with that Kansas L) and USC being this far apart in terms of program competence. Venables isn't someone I saw as an actually good HC, but I'm glad OU got the better end out of the deal with how it went down.
Im not going to go back and sift through posts but let the record show that Alex Grinch was mentioned as a possible DC candidate for us this past offseason. He might be worse than Pete
I’m ok with it though. The massive unevenness of the scheduling means that it’s almost required. Stuff like Michigan being rewarded for a cake schedule directly into the final 4 needs to stop. If you prove it on the field and win 3-4 games in a row against good playoff competition, you’ve earned it. Plus the seeding will be a big deal so there’s still that.
