What would stop an entity from setting aside a budgeted amount for lawsuits and they just make up lies and ruin peoples lives with no real consequence?
Its a silly question. 1 - why would a newspaper set out to destroy random people's lives? What's the upside for them? 2 - theyd quickly lose public trust 3 - they'd go bankrupt from all the libel lawsuits
1. To make a lot of money and/or to persuade the public to agree with their view 2. they already have 3. They can be picky on stories they’d like to release and they would know how exposed they are. the fact that you can’t see this is not hard to believe but it is scary
How are they going to make a lot of money off stories about people nobody cares about? I'll say it again, I'm not surprised that a fan of authoritarianism is against a free press. They go hand in hand. You can hold the media responsible while also maintaining the privacy of sources. This is common around the globe in non-dictator states.
The “media” has repeatedly knowingly lied to the American people over and over to try to persuade their point of view. You are ok with government taxes and oversight on things like what we spend, who we talk to, what substances go in our body, etc. but God forbid they hold the media accountable for spreading outright lies
alright alright alright. tell me who you are excited about next year. We don't need to get into a QB fight and everyone knows the receivers are elite but tell me someone random. I think Qua Russaw is going to bust fucking skulls next year.
And I am not a fan of authoritarianism. I despise big governments and would rather them focus on massive corporations that pay to play rather than focusing on individual people’s liberties
Yet you voted for an authoritarian regime that currently has troops on the ground in this country. You're a bad faith poster so I won't derail the thread any longer.
I think our defense goes as LT and James Smith go. If those guys are consistent game wreckers, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect us to have one of the best defenses we’ve seen in a while. The secondary is absolutely loaded and if the DL is able to consistently eat blocks our LBs will feast. Just really excited about this side of the ball because their potential is through the roof. Offensively, I’m really high on Horton and am hopeful Hale is able to come back strong. We’ve needed some bigger bodies there for a while now, and with Hollywood and Germie in the fold, there’s going to be a lot of pick your poison for opposing defenses if those two (and Lotzeir) step up. We were way too reliant on Williams last year and it absolutely played a role in him hitting a bit of a wall late in the year.
it really is crazy that in year 2 of Deboer we have one of the best secondaries we have ever had. you'd think it would be a glaring weakness after Saban left. Offensively all eyes are on QB but if Fornby doesn't take a step there will be a really steep learning curve for Ty/Keelon/Mack. Not worried about the rest of the line.
I think the wall Williams ran into last year was Milroe deciding to suck hard ass for the 2nd half of the season.
He was second in the SEC with 7 drops last year, including 5 in the last 7 games. Didn’t have his first drop until Vandy.
i have not rewatched but i feel like there were 10 drops in the first quarter against Oklahoma last year. the mediocre whites we had at tight end couldn't catch shit.
I think Grubb is as confident as ever. He spent a year in the league and seems like one of those guys that is going to take another step.
Alabama picking up steam Following his official visit to Alabama over the weekend, I believe the Crimson Tide are setting the pace for the On3 Industry’s No. 2 safety Jireh Edwards. He talked about his experience here. Georgia, Oregon, Auburn, Texas A&M and Florida are others in his mix but the intel favors the program in Tuscaloosa. It is definitely not out of the realm of possibility that Kalen DeBoer and Alabama could land the No. 2 and No. 3 ranked safeties in the country as they’re also one of the front-runners for fellow five-star Jett Washington. Washington took his OV to see the Crimson Tide two weekends ago and has since been to USC and Oregon. Beyond those two, Alabama remains one of the favorites for five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin. He was on campus for his OV over the weekend and my On3 RPM remains with the Tide. Texas, Ohio State and Florida State are still working to change that. Alabama is in the final two with Michigan for On300 defensive lineman Titan Davis. And it might be up to the Wolverines to change the pulse with the final official visit. On3 Industry four-star offensive lineman Samuelu Utu is on commit watch. Alabama is working to add him to a class that currently ranks No. 12 nationally. More on Crimson Tide QB recruiting On the quarterback recruiting front, Alabama is near the top of the list for two On300 signal-callers in Jett Thomalla and Matt Ponatoski. Thomalla is an Iowa State commit who was in Tuscaloosa two weekends ago and Ames this past weekend. He says he’s still thinking it over between the two. He has had dialogue with Alabama since returning to ISU. Ponatoski talked about his OV and added this about the Alabama staff. “When I got there I felt the conversation came easy,” he said of his time spent with DeBoer. Ponatoski will play football and baseball at the school of his choice. “We ended up talking about baseball for awhile and talked about football and life and had breakfast at his house and I talked to his wife. “Coach Grubb we sat in his office and talked 45 minutes to an hour about things I can work on and things I’m good at and going over some stuff I can improve on. You love to hear it. Get good feedback and an honest assessment. “Coach Sheridan from day one has been awesome. That guy is hilarious and the conversation comes super easy. It was everything I can ask for at Alabama.” Ponatoski is expected to hear his name called early in the MLB Draft and from there he says it will come down to money on what his next move would be. Right now he’s planning on attending college and playing both sports. That could certainly be at Alabama.
I think this summer will be much like last summer for us recruiting wise. We have 6 commitments currently and Bone/Watts are saying they expect us to have ~20 by the time the season starts. About to be a barrage.
Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Mary receiver Brian Williams Jr. took his official visit to Alabama over the weekend. Keep an eye on the Crimson Tide moving forward. “My OV to Alabama was very good,” Williams told On3. “I really enjoyed myself. Loved the staff and coaches.” Alabama is battling Florida, Kentucky and Penn State for the 6-foot-4, 190-pound Williams. “My favorite thing was seeing how focused the players were you can tell they’re all like minded,” Williams said. Alabama landed a commitment earlier today from four-star offensive lineman Samuelu Utu. They have the nation’s No. 8 ranked recruiting class. Williams could be next. “He like it a lot,” his trainer Kevin Wheeler said before talking about what he loves about Williams. “His dedication to his craft. He worked even during the season he stayed consistent. He works and grinds, a great kid, strong in his faith which helps him stay grounded. He has elite length and great bend for his height and size. He gets out of his breaks. Natural hand catcher. Those are the things he does well. Great route runner.” Beyond Williams, Alabama remains a front runner for three touted receivers in Tristen Keys, Cederian Morgan and Ethan Boobie Feaster.
about fucking time. He'll be a mid 90s 4 star before it is all said and done. With that offer list , 90 doesn't make much sense. But I'm ready for the avalanche of 5 stars.
Stud, I wonder if he'll ever suit up for the Tide or go pro? Alabama baseball signee Eric Hines has another honor to add to his trophy case. On Monday, he was named Prep Baseball Alabama's 2025 Player of the Year. Hines received distinction as the Gatorade Alabama Baseball Player of the Year for 2024-25 last week. He launched 20 home runs, in tandem with a .438 batting average, during his senior season. The athletic outfielder was part of a state championship-winning team at American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa this year. Hines also had 58 runs batted in in 2025. As he is a draft prospect, there is not an absolute certainty that he is even going to play college baseball. The Crimson Tide program hopes that the hometown product will.
https://www.on3.com/news/alabama-nate-oats-hosting-five-star-prospect-for-visit/ Alabama will host five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt for an unofficial visit on Tuesday, June 10th. The 6-foot-5 rising senior originally from Huntsville, Alabama has visited Tuscaloosa on several occasions. It’s no secret Holt is one of Nate Oats’ top targets in the 2026 class. See who all the Crimson Tide has offered in ’26 here. Earlier this month, Holt was recently named the MVP of the 2025 adidas Eurocamp in Italy after leading his team to a championship win. In three games, he averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 2.7 assists per outing. Holt recently announced he would be transferring to Prolific Prep for his senior season, which recently moved to Fort Lauderale, Florida. He played his junior season at Grayson High in Loganville, Georgia, but began his high school career at Buckhorn High in New Market, Alabama. Holt is ranked as the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 2 shooting guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. In addition to Alabama, Holt also holds offers from Auburn, Kentucky, UConn, North Carolina, Kansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Tennessee, and others.
Hate to say it but it sounds like its a highest bidder situation. Hopefully we bring out our big bag for him
