The trust issues are a valid concern. He bombed the test against Vandy, Tennessee, OU, Michigan, and then started off the year with a complete turd of a performance against Florida State. Things have been much better since and I love the direction we're headed. He's got to keep it up though. He's not out of the woods at all
I'm sorry, my wife is doing a psych rotation and I wanted to try out her current demeanor. I shit my pants 3 hours before every game.
I hope JD can find a role there. He’s looked really good in the G League. He left a year or two early from us with what seemed like pressure from people around him to go pro. Hope he catches on there.
MIDWEEK UPDATE: Alabama slid from -5.5 to -2.5 over the first half of the week in ESPNBET's college football odds Week 7 market. The Tide rebounded to -3.5 (+110) early Wednesday evening, and the number remained there late Wednesday. Accounting for all bet types (straight/parlays etc.), it's all Alabama, with ticket count 4/1 and money 6/1. ESPNBET's total is at 51.5 (Over -115), down from a 54.5 (Under -115) opener. Ticket count is 4/1 and money 2/1 on the Under, again including all bet types.
If it makes you feel any better, we’re currently -300 to make the CFP (best in SEC) and +700 to win it all (3rd best odds behind OSU and Oregon).
Again, I think a lot of it has to do with a lack of real data points for Mizzou. They got Carolina a week after Sellers got concussed (he still threw for 300+) and didn’t really pull away from either them or KU until late in the 2H. We’re going to give up a few big runs, but we can live with those assuming they aren’t chewing 5-7 yards ad nauseum. Easier said than done, and hopefully we can actually make some adjustments in the 1H if (when) the defensive game plan starts to unravel. If we can get Pribula in obvious passing downs, I think that’s a huge advantage for us. My biggest fear however is reverting back to poor tackle play and Ty not being able to find much, if any, rhythm in the pocket. There will be plenty of yards to he had through the air if we give him time, and I’d expect to see a lot of underneath stuff, crosses, and screens to offset both their pass rush and to act as an extension of our running game. We’ve absolutely owned them since they came into the league, but this is probably their best or second-best team since then. Glad it’s an early kick so we can get it over with one way or another.
This betrays any claim you have to be a ball knower. ku was fortunate the game was as close as it was. Even with Mizzou covering.
I'm sure I've said this before but Mizzou is good for 3-4 horrendously blown coverages a game. It's just matter of if we can get to the QB before he can get the ball off. With how well Simpson is playing, it seems like he will. I'm also ready to pull my hair out for all the time the pass rushers have him dead rights, and he slams on the breaks and they fly by. Then finds a guy down field. If I'm Bama I sell out to stop the run see if Pribula can beat you.
Lots of respect for Drink as a program builder. Eyeballs tell me that this is a very solid Mizzou team, just don’t know yet whether Top #15-25 or #5-15.
Drink is king of the goobers, and a quasi-Gus disciple, but I can’t help but like him. He’s a breath of fresh air in a mostly stale profession and seems like a very genuine guy who cares about his kids and still finds a way to enjoy what he’s doing. Big fan of his.
yea I think it’s obvious to any ball knower if KU got Mizzou off the field on 3rd and 4th down Mizzou would have been blown out due to all those early mistakes but they didn’t. 19 3rd down attempts and 5 4th down attempts is a lot. We’ll surely agree to that right? Correct me if I’m wrong here but Kansas was winning the game with 5 minutes to go right? Kansas football…not great
The game prolly gets out of hand pretty quick against a lot of his competition. And scored more than 50% of the time he touched the ball lol source: was on the receiving end of many of those games
I’m not a doctor but being over 300 lbs and eating 4 meals per week is probably a contributing factor to heart strain.
I’ll say it. Drink is a freaking loser. I am completely aware that he’s 5-0 this year, 10-3 last year and 11-2 in 2023. 26-5 is nice sure but they’ve played a soft schedule going back to 2023. They played 4 ranked teams last year beat one of them, Boston College. In 2023 they played 6 ranked teams and lost 3 of them. It’s like the only good team they’ve beat was 2023 Tennessee. I’m going to need to see more before I put drink in the good coach category. He’s still the guy holding signs at basketball games and yelling at opposing players while he’s getting his ass beat to me
Hey I get it. This is your guy. You’re good with it https://www.outkick.com/ncaaf/kansa...ayhawks-while-missouri-gets-blown-out-at-home
