Finally made it to Birmingham on Sunday. Boy I can't wait to watch Alabama play basketball this weekend.
Those chicks are butterfaces with balloon lips but good for Jahmyr. Hopefully he got some off camera perks
https://theathletic.com/4334374/2023/03/22/ncaa-tournament-upsets-sweet-16-princeton-fau/ Found this interesting. His model had Michigan State/Marquette (35.2%) and Arkansas/Kansas (36.2%) as the 2 most likely upsets in the 2nd round (for seeds at least 5 seedings apart). And Furman/Virginia (39.3%) in the 1R.
You knew it was gonna happen sometime soon but it still sucks. Nate will have some work to do this offseason. Hodg was an absolutely huge part of this whole deal.
Good for Hodg. Surprised he didn't get the Buffalo gig. Nate picked him from being an assistant at a community college to where he is now.
Wonder if he told Hodg the same thing he told Henry "You ain't gonna win a national title at the new place, might as well win one here this year" LOL
I’m surprised buffalo still hasn’t named anyone. Hodg being that close to musselman will be something to keep an eye on
Hate losing both assistants but they both deserve it. Pettway won’t be far behind them. Better be ready to go find us some other good basketball minds. Hate to start over next year but it was bound to happen if we continued winning.
Good on Saban for going to check in on the fellas before they leave town. Get out of here with this staged/forced talk
Absolutely. And it was executed perfectly! Athletic department officially back! In reality I'm guessing he he saw something about the nonsense with the phrasing the other day, probably wanted to find a way to make it clear it wasn't a thing and was also just interested in going down there before they left for the S16. Kill multiple birds with 1 stone. I don't think he was sent down there at gunpoint or something
So excited to shitpost them for 3 years when he gets on campus. Shame his best friend had to die to get us here, but worth it.
From here on out it's root for the worst team to win every game other than ours season - Kansas State - Arkansas - FAU - UCLA? I dunno here Tomorrow - Bama - Miami - Princeton - Xavier
I think this is probably correct except for K-State. UCLA is better than Gonzaga at full health, but they’re far from that right now and I think we match up better with the Zags anyway even if we lost to them earlier in the season.
I'm so ready to get this tournament going again. The wait isn't near as long as the wait for football from the SEC Championship to the playoffs, but the thirst is real!
Yea, if we're being honest the winner of KSU/Michigan State is probably the most irrelevant. I picked KSU because they have guys who can go unconscious for 40 minutes, but March Izzo is also scary. UCLA/Gonzaga is a tough one because both give us issues in different ways. Not sure I have a huge feeling there. Should be an awesome game to watch, though.
On Torvik you can use different variables to get it to spit out teams from the the past that most resemble a team from the current year. Using Adjusted Offense, Adjusted Defense, Tempo and Effective Height as the 4 main factors and then also big factors of eFG%, rebounding, 3 pt rate as smaller factors, here are the teams that most compare to Alabama. The 2019 Duke team (yes, the Zion/Barrett/Reddish team) being our closest comparative still makes me laugh a little bit. But it makes sense. San Diego State, FYI And Houston's is amazing because when you talk about "culture" and a "consistent program", it is hard to match having your current teams' 3 best comparisons be..............prior versions of yourself.
