Edmunds oast is a top notch restaurant with a top notch beer, liquor, and wine program that has always brewed their own stuff in house strictly for in house consumption. They're opening a brewery to do production that will also have amazing food. An oast is something you dry hops in
I googled it. Instead of being a failed smart ass, I am elevated to a more knowledgeable failed smart ass.
My youngest son ( age 24) and I will be in Charleston sometime between 10/7-13. We will give it a try. (We were going to do this last year but y'all allowed Matthew to ruin those plans. Do better this time)
I'll PM. We'll do Husk, since that's a personal favorite of mine. Edmunds Oast sounds fun. 167 seems to be well recommended too.
We landed in Atlanta and it seemed like all of the GA and SC coastal residents had fled there. Ya, we didn't want it that bad, though.
Ark definitely has the hook up for all things Charleston. But if you need golf or Kiawah recs, I can help out with that.
Theres three. If I'm downtown I'd go to the downtown one. It's not very far from anywhere you'll be staying
Downtown location for sure if you want to watch the games. West Ashley is good too. Usually a good football crowd there. I just don't like the Sullivan's layout. Super cramped. My wife actually said for her birthday she wants to go to downtown location and watch the games that day. Greatest thing shes ever said.
I'm planning a bachelor party for 15-20 guys in late April of next year. Any recommendations on which part of town to stay in?
If you're wanting to be right downtown I'd stay close to king between like Columbus and Calhoun. If youre up for a beach house I'd do Sullivan's island
Thanks for the input. I'll probably have more questions in the coming months as we get closer to next April. Since we'll be on the golf course for 5-6 hours a day, I'm not sure we'd utilize the beach enough to justify staying further away from downtown.
Yeah if it's just a weekend it's not really worth it probably but if you're at that size your rental inventory downtown is going to be smaller than the beach will
If you stay at folly it's going to be quite a hike to any course you play other than the muni. Patriots would be next closest and it's a solid 20 mins I would say.
Yeah that was probably generous. MtOread what kind of golf are y'all trying to play? Something nice or hammering beers? Bunch of high handicappers or guys that can play?
50ish minutes or so. Thats a hike Though Kiawah is far from anywhere you'd want to stay for a bachelor party
BrickTamland , did you have trouble getting into Husk? I tried to ma reservations and none are available. I was told they have a walk-up wait list.
You can walk up and wait, you'll get in. Or go for lunch/brunch I also like just going to their bar next door
Decided not to go there. But having been to their Nashville location I knew reservations would have been necessary. The Macintosh was pretty solid. I'd like to try Fig next time I'm in town though.
