AI is absolutely the wave of the future in the same way that dippin dots is the ice cream of the future. Useful in certain circumstances, but nowhere close to an actual replacement.
I want to go on the record that I respect our machine overlords and cannot believe the blasphemy I am reading in here
Guys AI can write a semi okay script for Seinfeld. I don't know why you aren't fully invested in such useful technology! and yeah there are use cases, I know. But wanted to make my thoughts known in this thread as well. What people think AI means versus what it actually is right now are very very far apart...
Thing is this stuff moves so quickly. "Right now" slips in the rearview fast these days. Last decade people said AI was never gonna happen. Now it's already kinda everywhere. So yeah, it's hysteria, but it doesn't feel hard to believe this stuff completely takes over the world in our lifetime based on how we're seeing it come out of the gates. Exponential.
Midjourney and Suno are both really good at what they do. You can definitely have issues with what they do but they do it quite well.
Im a complete novice when it comes to AI, so pardon my ignorance. What is the best AI platform/program to use?
IMO it depends on what you want to use it for. There's a bunch of different ones that specialize in doing certain things.

it was absolutely worth having 25 server farms spewing millions of tons of carbon into the air to get that

Some of the current AI tools in healthcare are really solid. Listening to clinic conversations and making notes for docs, saves docs time and are often more accurate depictions of what actually was said and done in the room. They are far from being perfect and make tons of mistakes, but they are good first draft makers. Editing a note is way faster and mentally easier than starting from scratch.
There are tons of things its great for to use as a tool for the job. But the problem is companies trying to turn it from a tool to the decision making part of the job
This narrow AI is good. General AI is so far from a useful reality, would be great if we could rebrand and educated the public on the differences.
