It'll never not amaze me to see him basically standing still, and then boom he's already down the wing.
I played right back in school and there’s zero chance I’m ever stabbing at him if I’m defending. When he sees a stab he’s gone.
I mean some professionals at the highest level have 0 chance. His ability to glide while dribbling is simply incredible.
Jorginho, Kovacic, and Kante is a midfield I can get behind. Hazard needs a better partner than Pedro.
I was surprised Barkley got the start but if he’s merely a stop gap until Kovacic is fully integrated into the team then it makes sense.
That's the only way it would make sense. Luiz also has to be dropped, hopefully Christensen can slot in
Yeah I just don’t think he trusts hazards fitness or kavacic’s integration into the team. Pretty obvious that those guys should be starting
Kovacic said he really didnt train for the real season so it's like he is coming back from world cup break at the same time as Hazard. Give it a week or two and he should be at full fitness
Showed a lot of glimpses today with the system, just have to shore up defensively but the potential is there
Obviously the first half was terrifying but I don’t think they could have played much better than the second half. Smothering team defensive performance and great output, particularly after the subs came on. If this is the floor for this team....
He was a banker and did start coaching in the 8th division. I would hope a banker could afford coaching badges if he wanted it though.
Looks like he started coaching when he was 31 but didn’t go full time until he was 40. Had no idea. That’s pretty awesome. Think Empoli was first top division job and he took them up there, then kept them up and turned that into Napoli and now Chelsea
Media narrative from this weekend is 80% United are in shambles/mourinho out and 20% about Chelsea beating arsenal. Reading and loving almost all the content right now.
On a flight and going to miss the game. Sucks. Like the lineup. Hopefully we can get the 3 and continue to build confidence.
The NU strategy is to play a 5-4-1, from time to time venture past midfield, and mug Hazard every time he touches the ball. Chelsea has 83% of the possession right now.
First win in forever up there, happy with the three points. Penalty was a coin flip for me but missing Yedlin's elbow was ridiculous. I think it's time for Christensen to take over for Luiz for a few games...
I thought the payroll given by the commentators was interesting. Chelsea’s average cost per player is 35M Euros compared to 4M at Newcastle. Quite a talent gap between the two.
