We need to win this game we have dominated. Cesc showing what this team will look like with a CM next to kante who can arrive late in the box. Still not sure cesc is that guy game in and game out as we are not always this much on the front foot but matic isn't that guy

Costa hasn't been the same player since china came calling. bring someone else on. Selfish isn't a good look unless you are putting the ball in the net

He was 2 feet away, they're rarely if ever called for that. Plus after Barca 09 I stopped having any clue about handballs.

Set piece defending has to be addressed.

    Kante is fucking everywhere.

Costa frustrates me a lot of the time but hopefully we're getting through his goal drought and he can carry the team on the road in.

We want him BAD. Was conte's #2 target after kante. They would be a perfect midfield duo. Did you guys give him the extension he was promised? At a minimum I assume you guys will have to pony up some cash unless he just really likes Rome and is willing to play for half of what we would pay him.

If they really pay even close to that I think it's time to let him go. Combine that with the Oscar money and the fact that we will be back in the champions league, Yokohama money and new nike money and we could buy whoever. Only hesitation is our boards transfer issues in recent seasons.

Conte is mourinho though. If Jose doesn't get everything he wants he pouts. Conte sucks it up and works with what he has. Hopefully the reported big money interest in conte from china (I don't see it) and inter (with big money could be tempting) has the club give conte a big extension and more importantly full backing in the transfer window. Have to learn from he mistakes of 2 seasons ago

Sell Costa. Buy Radja and Griezmann and start looking for players to push our wingers and call it a summer.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Griezman for the #9? Also, isn't he a done deal to United? Would like to get back in for Lukaku if Costa goes. Totally agree on Radja tho, what I said about Veratti applies to him as well.

Dembele is another one with who we've been linked. I don't think we'd be willing to match United for Griezman and Aubemeyang seems like he's headed to Real Madrid.

No thanks on Aubemeyang. About age as Costa and would still cost a fortune, though he's quite good.

Not sure how I feel about the Dembele hype. If Costa goes we need a player proven in England, Germany, or Spain. Otherwise might as well roll the dice w/ Bats and Traore.

I just don't think he's proven himself to be that much better of a prospect than Abraham and/or Traore. Not that he won't be good, just not what Chelsea need if Costa goes.

Dembele has been the best teenager on earth this season and has the potential to be one of the best in the world. Any non Chelsea fan would give up both of those guys and a shit ton of money for him.

Thought we were talking about the Celtic Dembele...too many Dembeles.

Again, not saying he won't be very good. Just don't think paying 40 for him when the club have comparable players at similar levels of competition is a smart idea. Would rather pay 50 or 60 for Lukaku, assuming Costa is gone.

If it's the Dortmund one, then all in.

Mbappe is still too young to be counted on for next season imo.

Moussa dembele (formerly of Fulham and now of Celtic) is a great striker prospect but I don't see him as a replacement for costa. If anything he could be a replacement for michy if we decide michy doesn't fit what conte wants and we loan out michy. I see morata as the best replacement for costa but I do think if we replace costa we do slightly downgrade regardless of who we get

Too bad Nigeria swooped him up for internationals. He grew up in England though. Right back is probably the one area England can afford to lose a guy though. Walker and clyne are both very good options

He is for the Prem. I think he counts for UEFA too(tho the qualifications are different and there are distinctions for club and national trained).

For premier league it doesn't matter what your nationality is. A certain number of spots can go to guys that are not "trained" for 3 years ages 16-21 at an English club. So cesc counts as homegrown.

Uefa is different. Uefa there are some that can be club trained and then some country trained I believe. City ran into an issue a few years ago where someone good had to be left off champions league squad. That is one of the reasons speculated that they paid so much for stones m

Ake and Christensen are two other non-brits that count as homegrown by premier league rules

Would laugh so hard if we keep costa for one more season, Sanchez doesn't sign an extension but stays at arsenal, we sell costa for 100 million to China after next season and snap Sanchez up on free as his replacement.

This photo sums up kante. This is a youth team he was on. You would think that trophy is a championship trophy but that is actually the player of the tournament trophy. The winner? The pint sized boy on the side who happens to be our own ngolo kante. This picture just seems to perfectly illustrate his career.

Will be interesting to see what happens with us at wembley for 3 seasons. Currently the plan will be to only open to lower bowl which is like 50k tickets but I wonder if they will schedule less events (38 total events can be fully open) and allow us to play some champions league games with the full stadium open

Pedro and cesc start. Everything else normal. Only thing that surprises me is zouma continuing to make the bench over ake. Nothing against zouma but ake's versatility seems like a better fit or the bench than zouma.

Also RLC making then bench but chalobah not making it is a bit surprising but maybe RLC is finally making strides to play the way conte wants

Zouma is still a little rigid coming off injury and has some panic about him in possession. Ake I think is the better fit and has more versatility and creativity.

they probably put Zouma on the bench so he doesn't want to force his way out in the off season. Political things like that matter imo

I think Zouma has way more potential than Ake to be world class. Is Ake better right now? Probably, but I still would like to see Zouma get more minutes to get his sharpness back.
