The kind of Money they are talking I would pass. Unless he forces it and we get a cut from the numbers being thrown around. Would rather morata at this point. I think he will link up with hazard and others better than lukaku. Lukaku might be a slightly better finisher but I am not sure he will make anyone else better.
We are so lucky to have Conte as our manager. At the beginning of the season, I wanted Cahill to be taken out behind the woodshed and put down; now look at him. Moses, Pedro, Alonso, he's brought the best out of so many of our players who weren't expected to meaningfully contribute. Even Matic, who was on the verge of changing human physiology by becoming legitimately ethereal , is a tangible presence in the midfield again. Plus, he's turned the geezer into an absolute beast. Just so damn happy atm.
Thought we were pretty poor until the goal but that's what quality can do for you. Then strangled the game to death after. Hope Luiz is OK thought he (all the defenders really) played really well.
Lukaku's lack of production against the top teams is concerning. Love Costa's hold up play when he's on but it's too inconsistent. Lukaku can definitely do more by himself with his pace and dribbling ability, those are two of the weakest aspects of Costa's game.
I've been a a Lukaku Stan for a while but I'm starting to come around to this line of thinking, particularly at the 100ish million being bandied about.
Only striker remotely attainable that I would pay that money for is Aubameyang and possibly griezmann. I love mbappa and he has done incredible things but not sure he has done it long enough to justify that kind of price tag. seems like a deal can be done for morata a decent amount lower than that and can hopefully be paid for by the costa to China money and allow us to spend more on shoring up the midfield and building out our 3-5-2 to have the depth and talent available in the 3-4-3

I really hope that isn't the case. He's always gave his all and it's been tough watching him be relegated to a bench role after being the only one to try last season. Still think he has another level he could reach.
Costa is as good as gone but I hate seeing these articles come out heavy during the title race. To start or not to start costa is the big debate for Chelsea down the stretch. In my opinion you cannot start him unless you start cesc. Part of me thinks you are better off with the false 9 hazard and Willian/Pedro running off and then if we struggle to score you bring in costa and cesc as a team around the 60th minute. Costa has struggled mightily but like Tom Brady and some white UDFA WR cesc and costa seem to have great chemistry and cesc seems to be the only one to release him. Could also look at cesc over matic against Middlesbrough but conte has been patient and allowing the team to start slow but not concede and I doubt he drops matic.
Also anyone hear anything on charly musonda? I can't believe we kept him at the club instead of loaning him out. What an absolute fucking waste. He was really good in the second half of the year at betis last year. They changed coaches and he got hurt so we recalled him but surely we could have found him a nice loan. If you can't even make the bench then you should be out on loan.
Conte said during his press conference this morning that Luiz and kante are fitness doubts for the game Monday. Will be interesting to see if he sticks with ake or calls Terry in from the cold after he said terry is Luiz backup. I think you have to go terry. As for kante you just play cesc and stay 3-4-2-1 instead of 3-5-2. Would make us light in the midfield but it's Middlesbrough at home. Conte mentioned managing for future games so he might feel he needs both more at west brom next Friday than he does for this game
