wearing it today so will get to see it in action.. hopefully it goes better than the home reveal would be really nice to get a W before Leicester & Man U play to put some pressure on them. Hate having to cheer for Arsenal this afternoon but a win over Leicester would be big for us.
Big moment for billy gilmour not sure if it’s a mistake or not but Reece James listed on the left side. Maybe they want James’ pace/strength going against zaha?
I'm obviously not a maestro, but I don't see the appeal to Declan Rice. He's consistently average and doesn't really do anything that sticks out
I kind of agree. The rumor is they want him as a defender which might make sense (i have no idea on how he profiles there) but he's not a super prolific midfielder. That said, he's had to cover for Noble's ancient ass all season which can't be easy.
Yea. I'm not saying he's bad, by any means. But for the money it'd cost to get West Ham to sell him, I don't think it's worth it with how he'd be used. Just my opinion though. Seems like a very Drinkwater-esque move if it happens.
Gilmour is pretty surprising, big statement from Frank and a lot of pressure on him being selected with everything on the line
Agree on Rice, though I do think he has pretty good potential upside. Not many players are elite DM at that age, most grown into the role.
the chelsea official account lists the players in order of position every single game. I think it’s more likely they got this wrong though. I can’t see him switching James to the left. Especially with him being our best crosser and asking a young player to switch sides.
Interesting midfield 3. It's sad that we couldn't get the best out of Jorginho, I was really excited when we signed him. There was a reason so many clubs wanted him before he came to Chelsea, I'm sure he'll ball out wherever he lands if he happens to leave us.
3 still going to take a little more time to get used to but I like both kits which is making it easier.
Hate that Cahill is hurt. Especially like that. Absolutely no way you could expect us to stop. Willian was basically in the box when he got the ball. It’s not even debatable. sucks to cheer for a goal as a former blue is hurt. Willian with a nice pass and good movement from giroud and pulisic to get some space.
Also probably helps that Palace have the worst kits in the league. Hard to screw those colors up but they’re awful.
I feel like there is more to this. Maybe gilmour looks like the guy who played against Liverpool/Everton before the break in training. It’s not translating to the matches though. He just hasn’t looked confident. If Jorginho doesn’t get subbed on at some point in this game I’m going to believe that there has been some sort of falling out between lampard and Jorginho.
Oh Christ, that looked unsaveable at first but on replay most other keepers make that save at least half the time
how is that not a yellow card on that tackle on pulisic? that was classic kepa. Not a truly bad error but he just doesn’t stop any shots that he COULD stop.
Maybe I'm crazy, but Kepa letting that in isn't some glaring error imo, that shot had some mustard on it.
Like I said in EPL thread, it’s not an easy save, but he didn’t even come close to touching it and it was in arms length of where he started. He’s just not good, a world class goalie saves that.
Gilmore way better after a shaky first 5 minutes. People trashing him and Zouma are nuts for not closing that down. Zaha was 30 yards away!
it’s not that a goalie is expected to save that. He’s straight bad when it comes to set pieces. His distribution this year has been average. He needs to be an elite shot stopper. He’s below average in that category is well. The slow motion replay shows that not only did he not save he. He wasn’t even that close. I think zaha could have shot that from 5-10 yards further out and kepa still wouldn’t have saved it.
