Why are there Chelsea fans that hate Mason Mount? Seems like Frank is always saying something in his defense.
It’s truly fucking bizarre. Chelsea Twitter gets really weird once you read past the first couple of replies (I guess that’s Twitter generally tho).
Hopefully gilmour can ameliorate some of these issues plus bringing in Rice (or Zakaria) at some point.
Chelsea got a lot of very weird, some new, cult fans who love sarri, Jorginho and kepa. They have this bizarre need for chelsea to look, act and play like sarris Napoli. They hate most of our youth players. That contingent is very vocally loud against youth players. mount also played too much last season (and had burnout from it IMO) and this narrative that frank picks him as his favorite formed. mount also has a separate issue where people think grealish should play over him on the England national team so a bunch of English fans don’t like him for that reason. Even after they played together and played well, there is still a narrative. mount has also been put in some tough situations playing out of position which caused form to dip at times. When he plays as an 8 he’s awesome. Mount/havertz/kante get a run of games as a trio and we can make a run.
Iron Mickey I don’t see us getting a DM in January. Like BleedinGreen said gilmour can bring something different and probably better than Jorginho. Unless a vet DM is available for loan for some reason, we will wait until the summer and I think we will get declan rice next summer.
Agree w/ all of this but as an aside, the double pivot guys were talking about Grealish and apparently his numbers this season look nearly identical to Hazard's (.68 npxG+xA/90) which I can kinda see while watching him. Obviously a small sample but will be interesting to see if he displaces Sterling further forward before displacing Mount as an 8 (when I assume he plays for England once all their players are fit). England's attack is probably going to be (or might already be) the best in the world.
Almost everyone has the same rest between games as the team they’re playing in the second game, we’re not “getting fucked”. If anything it’s an advantage because of our depth compared to Villa. Just play the best squad we can against Arsenal and we should be able to handle Villa still with both teams having a lot of rotation.
we are definitely getting fucked. Injuries happen when players play that quickly. We were certainly rotate some but guys like mount who will likely play both games will be at risk for injury. Villa is at the same risk. That is true. We aren’t competing against villa though for the title or top 4.
Man all week I thought our match was today at 11:30 planned my whole Saturday around it and was pumped when I woke up
Last season, I made plans for me and a couple of buddies to meet at the pub for the first Bayern Munich tie. I showed up at 11, no one was there, and the bartender was like "oh shit, is there a game today?" I was a week off; the 3 of us ended up just getting drunk in an empty pub. It ended up being a good time, but god did I feel dumb.
My wife was is taking our 10 month old to an outdoor lunch thing. Already got a Christmas tree and knocked out some chores this am, so I could smoke a bowl and just sit on the couch and enjoy. The Sunday lead in to NFL is pretty nice so I can't complain.
Liverpool drawing today makes tomorrow even more of a mouth watering fixture. Biggest of the year in the league so far imo. I see it being 2-1 one way or the other. Possibly a scored draw at 2-2.
Sure. I’m not saying we’re playing Bayern and a healthy Liverpool or something. But Leeds are plenty capable and we’ve established different perspectives on the value of winning the group.
Midfield is really struggling right now. May need to have ziyech dropping deeper to get the ball more.
They are pressing mount, Werner, Tammy, reece and ziyech. Giving kovacic and kante plenty of time and space. Forcing them to create and neither is capable. I think that pulisic could be a difference maker here but for me, havertz for kovacic is the sub that changes the way this game is being played defensively by the Spurs.
Could have been better, but a good result. Getting a clean sheet against a team as hot as them is a good sign.
