not sure if anyone watched and there is a lot of good shit in it but the biggest takeaway of had is that the switch to the back 3 was done for the first game to make sure azpi was on the pitch. He chose to go with double 6s because he felt it fit the midfield but the back 3 was to make sure the captain was on the pitch game 1. Coming into a job 24 hours before a game that makes a lot of sense but a lot of people thought it was to accommodate Jorginho. Some felt Werner and some felt Alonso but sounds like azpi was the first thought.
I keep hearing that chelsea want to buy a centerback this summer. Who is available and viewed as an upgrade? I’m far from convinced on our centerbacks outside of Silva but I have yet to see a name linked with a transfer who is an upgrade on Christensen in the middle of a back 3 or Zouma in a back 2. Liverpool get VVD back next year and City have dias so I understand wanting that level of defender but overpaying for someone who isn’t at that level doesn’t seem to be the answer. If I’m missing someone and we get someone who can be that guy great. I just don’t see who these available upgrades are.
Pretty cool New content they’re putting out. The heat touch map for azpi shows why some people feel like Reece James can play that role against teams setting up with a very low block. He can be very dangerous in the positions that azpi got the ball in. Not against big teams right now but against bottom 5-7 teams or teams that struggle to counter and are fine just sitting back, he can be an alternative in the future in that role if we continue to play this way.
