It’s a good video with both the stats and scouting breakdown. Having someone that can head the ball and attacks crosses is a nice compliment to Jackson even with some of the troubling stuff both on tape and in the stats.

Will be interesting to see how much playing for Ipswich and a bad Hull side impacted him and if the skills from the City academy translate more to Maresca’s system (and possession/field tilt).

Am I reading it right that's he's basically the opposite of Nico in that way? Feel like Jackson is quite good at passing, a hard worker in the press, fine at shooting but struggles to make the right post runs with crosses, is terrible in the air, and doesn't win as many fouls as he did a year ago. Feel like having Delap's profile actually sets up well to take advantage of what someone like Neto is supposed to be so useful for?

Usage-wise, I'd argue they're pretty similar (Jackson is frankly far superior in every category) but the circumstances of Delap's teams have dictated a ton of that and IMO his skill set will allow him to be an excellent compliment to Jackson. I guess at City, he was much more of a striker/distributor (think Giroud) than his current role at clubs that never see the ball. If he can make himself into something like that for Noni and Palmer to work off of, then I think this could work out really well. If not, it's not a huge investment and teams will always be looking for a HG striker.

Maybe I missed him but I can’t find Caicedo in ESPN’s Top 100.

Heard a good podcast segment about Maignan’s leadership. Talked about him following Lloris in the French team (most caps for them) and held guys like Mbappe and Griezmann accountable.

Thanks for everything Kepa. Of all the players in the squad over the past decade, you were by far the most one of them

Looks like this will be done for around 35. I don't hate it but the process of signing "whoever was at the City academy when Joe Shields was" is getting a little old, even with how great Palmer has been.

Under 21 and Fbref comps Noni and Nico Williams. This is bait for our sporting directors.

Bettinelli going to City. Kind of an odd one. We aren’t hard up for keepers but I don’t think any of the top guys will be satisfied being a third. Seemed like a great veteran presence to have around.

It’s bizarre how we’re apparently refusing to pony up a few extra million for Maignan. Just weird to draw that line in the sand given all of our other transfer dealings and mediocre recruitment of GKs.

I think it still gets done. That said, the need for a LW upgrade is wayyyyy more urgent than a GK upgrade over Bob for the CWC.

Not terribly surprising but no Felix or Sterling for CWC
