Not loving some of the Gittens prices being thrown around. Anything over 50 is too much for a talented but still super raw prospect.
I guess it doesn’t but if the club are going to bid 70+ then I'd make PSG sweat with a massive Barcola bid and see how much he really wants to be on the bench in a WC year. Garnacho (while almost certainly an immense asshole) is also available for around half that and is much more proven in the prem.
Good scouting video on him. Like Delap, there are tools but pretty poor production and the fee is probably way too much when there were other options for the left attacker. Will be so disappointed if they sell Noni after he finally put it together this season.
They already rejected 50 + addons. Assuming it’s in the 60-70 range, that’s finished product money, not a dribler that can’t pass (plus the Bundesliga tax).
Yes. Garnacho is the same age, far more productive, and did it in England (and would be cheaper fee, wages probably more). Chelsea were the 4th or 5th best team in England last year and there needs to be significant investment into the attack (at least) to improve on that.
We just did this same thing with Mudryk (who had an even better skill set) and we know how that’s worked out, even before the suspension. This team needs to be in the champions league every year for the finances to work and instead of buying sure things that can help the team (see Olise v Neto last year) they cheap out on wages and keep buying lotto tickets.
Gittens had more G/A than Garnacho in less minutes, so you’re just making things up to be mad about stuff.
8 goals on 3.6 xG in Germany compared to 7.3 xG in the EPL for Garnacho. Which one would you bet on to be more productive next year? If he wasn’t one of Shield’s guys from the City Academy no one would know who he was. He might end up being good but the red flags are there and the fee is nonsensical.
99% of the time it actually is not what it means. It’s true that a small handful of guys consistently outperform their xG (Son from Spurs is the best example) but it’s A) incredibly rare and B) not usually over 2x your xG. Gittens over performance is almost certainly a hot finishing spell that Chelsea are moronically paying over the moon for.
And it’s being headed from behind him and it’s a meaningless tip. The current interpretation of the handball law is largely dumb.
