Midfield is getting bullied. Why did we not go with our strongest 11 with rudiger and bakayako? At this point I think we should go bakayako for Willian and switch to a 3-5-2. Need to get control of the midfield. Without ozil Arsenal have midfielders who don't just watch.

Rudiger is better than Cahill. Willian is a bench player for a team with our ambition. Cesc cannot start in a 2 man midfield against a good team. These things just seem so obvious to me.
Willian starting indicates to me some concern about Hazard's fitness and not wanting to extend him before he is ready. Makes me even more upset Martinez started him during the break. I'm surprised Cesc started. Thought Baka would start and they'd try to physically dominate he midfield. Cahill is the captain so there might be pressure to include him. I think that decision goes beyond player ability.
I agree with you on all of that. The cesc made no sense. Like you said I see the reasoning for Cahill and Willian. Willian I can't disagree with because we don't know hazards fitness but I thought that we should have started the same D that was playing well
A lot of people coming around to the idea that Cahill hurts our ability to play out from the back. Luiz doesn't make that dumb challenge and I think we might have seen rudiger next game. Without Luiz and with Christensen starting the next 3 EPL games I think he sticks with Cahill.

Musonda gets the start and as long as the team does their job we could be looking at 1-2 debuts off the bench.
I can’t see him starting 4 in 10 days. We play at stoke on the weekend, atletico in the champions league midweek and then man city the following weekend. If I had to guess he will be used as an impact sub this weekend and then start the next 2 games going into the international break. Stoke away is not an easy game by any means though and Pedro is hurt now so he will either need to overrun hazard or we could possibly see a 3-5-2 against stoke.
