I think the reason Mitch looks alright in those situations is because the D is trying to keep everything in front of them. A prevent style D not trying to give up a huge gain is a different animal than a regular D.
Nagy needs to take the governor off and let Mitch play through his mistakes. Line has sucked and the playcalling has been garbage.
GB wasn't playing prevent last week. Philly really wasn't either considering a FG loses the game for them. In fact, Mitch hit a backshoulder for the big gain.
Maybe I’m wrong on the D giving him a little more wiggle room. I do agree at some point this year Nagy has to let Mitch go, we’ve got to see if this kids worth resigning. The bad part is if Mitch can limit mistakes with the defense we have we’re in every game. Not sure we want him slinging it 40 times a game.
Yeah I don’t remember prevent either but there is a lot of blame on the offense. It took 6 tries to score from the 1 today
This is it for me. Line was so good last year and has been shit so far. What was the stat they kept talking about last week? Last year we had like 13 total holding calls and what, we’ve already got 6 or 7?
Also don’t forget that Mitch had Gabriel wide open, not a guy within 10 yards of him, and delivered a terrible throw. It’s on Nagy, Mitch, and the line at this point.
That was a nice pass breakup by the DB but yes a little more air under that throw and Cohen “should” have caught it.
The media isn’t making a big enough deal about how hard of a kick that was... Spoiler With Eddy’s big ass balls getting in his way
Rewatching that last sequence. 100% ARob saw that DB and dove into him to make sure he got touched down.
Teams are stacking the box and sending more pressure because they are challenging Mitch and these OL to beat them. Right now only Robinson has proven he can win and win often
The thing is he's not running immediately. He's had what 2 or 3 runs in 2 games? He needs to use his legs more, not less.
One of my biggest complaints. They have a ton of money in the O-line and it has sucked. Took a great effort from Montgomery to get into the endzone from the 1 yard line on 3 attempts.
Petty sure I heard the broadcast team say he’s been injured with a shoulder injury. He’s a good wr imo.. needs a lot of snaps when healthy
The shoulder is what he hurt last year. He sprained his ankle in practice after week 1 of the preseason. I think he has been held out until the week before the Packers game.
I’m worried about him playing with a club on his hand, will be harder to shed those OL. Speaking of shedding blocks I saw this earlier in the week. So good by Floyd, takes on a pulling guard and immediately throws him aside. Highly doubted we’d see this from him for the majority of his career but he’s taking the next step now.
This is pretty big game considering how well the division is playing so far. We’ve got to beat teams like this if we plan on making the playoffs.
I’m hoping this is the week Nagy didn’t wake up and feel like the most innovative OC ever. Maybe this is the week things start to click for Trubisky too....is that too much to ask? Got to think the D-line should have a field day with a Trent Williams-less OL.
I thought this would be an easy ‘get right’ game for the O but Massie being out and Allen being in for them worries me. I think if this OL starts playing like last year everything else will fall into place.
I think Mitch can excel if most plays are predetermined throws, Browns did it a ton with Baker last night.
The mandate about only calling holding calls if its super egregious is already ticking me off. Floyd has been tackled twice already.
