Nagy lost it with that third down call. He got cute. That’s fine cause he’ll learn from it. We waited too long to bring Mack n Smith back in during the second half. Oh well. This was always a year to let Mitch learn. The pieces look great, once we put them together this is our division and conference. Both sides of the ball are stacked. This win for them doesn’t mean shit. The fact we’re the team to beat for the next 5+ seasons in this division does.
Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this team snuck into the WC slot this year. Which would be 2 years ahead of schedule in my mind. Reminder, Mack played .5% of those second half snaps. When Mack and Smith are 100% this def will be deadly. Mitch and Nagy just needs more experience.
Is anyone serious upset? This team will be fun as fuck to watch this year. This def will finish top 5 but out of fear it installs into opposing team the Rams will be the only ones matching us. Mitch will learn. Trub will learn. This isn’t a playoff team in the making it’s a championship team in the making. This isn’t our year, we all knew that. But the foundation is being built easily.

This team dominated for a half. It gave the game away. I don’t think it’s a few years away it’s good enough to compete for the playoffs this year. Get in and anything can happen.
Disagree, the only reason we’re in this game is because the Defense played top notch the 1st half. This game is 100% on Nagy, run the god damn ball and salt that game away. But no he wanted to get cute and pass the ball around on 3rd down twice with less than 2 yards to go for a 1st.
So after taking a night to gather my thoughts, there was a lot of good and bad in that game. Trubisky made a lot of good plays but he also had some really bad plays. He missed Robinson for that TD and also over threw him on the sideline on the last drive. In the second half he was definitely looking to run way too early. In the second half up 20, all the defense had to not do was give up big plays. They gave up a 50 and a 75 yard touchdown. That can't happen. When you add on the Fuller drop....thats a really bad half of football from the secondary. I had hoped Nagy was different from 95% of the coaches in football but when the rubber met the road, he did the same conservative bullshit everyone else does. 3 minutes left and you can end the game if you can get one yard in 2 plays. Instead he kicks a field goal and gives Rodgers the ball back with a chance to win it. At that point I think we all knew how it was going to end. Run the ball on third down and if you don't get it, go for it on fourth. Belicheck got killed for going for it on his own 35 yard line against Manning several years ago but it was 100% the right thing to do. Try to win the game instead of try not to lose. Games like that are the difference between 9-7 and the playoffs and 8-8 and sitting at home in January. All in all, thought the Bears needed to win 1 of the first 2 to have a shot at the playoffs. Really need to show up against Seattle.
The Bears averaged 5.1 yards a carry. Passed on 3rd and 1, completion to Dion Simms for no gain. 3rd and 2 from the GB 14 incomplete pass to Anthony Miller where a first down literally wins the game. Thats tough

I actually don’t dislike Rogers. I admire him really, I was personally just happy to see the defense playing lights out then. My frustration with continually losing to the Packers is more Bears related. Got a bit of a mental block in the franchise at the moment.
When Sheehan returns we can go ahead and cut Simms. Worthless. Also Mitch needed to just float that pass to Cohen he had 2 yards on that DE covering him with zero safety help over top. No clue what collinsworth was talking about when he said that was great coverage.
We’re going to need the DBs to be more physical. We’re going to see a lot of 3 step drops with this pass rush.
So script an opening TD drive every week, then the D just has to hold opponents under 7 points. Should be an easy blueprint to the Super Bowl.

Our defense is just relentless, should be a 10 win year if it weren’t for Trubisky being so young. Wonder if Oakland would trade us that 2nd back for Carr?
I'm not writing him off but his mechanics haven't held well together on long drops. That said he is mostly looking up the field and making reads so hopefully it is a case of him putting intensive coaching together with his natural talents. His short sharp throws are quite good (apart from that pick though that was a little unlucky) and he does have the ability to make something from nothing.
Gonna need a timely TO to win this. What’s up with Nagy running outta the gun with Howard all the time? It’s like he’s neutering our best offensive player.
