So, this means JJ is being tagged, yes? If so, how much cap is being tied up in JJ, Sweat and Edmunds next year. These guys are good but we ain't winning shit without a modern offense. This also kinda guarantees we draft a rookie QB and restart the clock there too, unless Fields is okay with playing for cheap.
They still have a ton of cap space moving forward. I’m pretty optimistic they sign JJ. Hoge said the morning he requested the trade that Poles was texting that he was confident he’d sign an extension in the next few days. Haven’t heard any rumors about Mooney, if I were him I’d sign a 2 year deal with KC and put up some big numbers. Also, what’s the story with the guard they traded for in the preseason, has that guy even dressed for a game yet?
I spend the majority of the game just watching Big Tev demolish people. Wish he could somehow stay healthy.
Two of those INTs were terribly thrown. It's weird, sometimes it seems like he's got a decent arm, sometimes it seems like he can't zip it where he wants. Looks like he's be a good back up though.
For fucks sake I just her Flus’ quote on if Justin will play tomorrow. Within 2 minutes he said he for sure isn’t playing twice, there’s a chance he might play once, and he looks really good, strong accurate throws. It was so nonsensical. Also of note, Parkins said he’s had people within the org reach out saying that Fields is telling everyone he can that he feels fine and wants to play. Was throwing and catching without a glove today.
bears are going to end the season with 6 wins and theyll site the late game improvement as a reason to keep the staff
A lot of shit has happened since that pick was made, including two years of MVP QB play. Good GM's can make bad picks. I didn't hate the process or reasoning at the time and I don't today either. We'll see how it plays out. My biggest complaint is the lack of veteran support from pass catchers to help him out. The plays he gets right someone else is fucking up and vice versa. In the meantime, I appreciate having games at noon on Sundays again instead of primetime every week.
Is a QB sitting out and watching the offense ever really a good thing or just sports cliche? Seems like if it were real it might help fields watching Bagnet, if Bagnet had Fields skills he maybe a good player or vice versa. Can we Frankenstein em?
I think it’s just targeted WR’s which means Fields isn’t doing as well as Bagnet at finding the open guy? Or am I reading that wrong? Seems like both would have a somewhat even WR separation number being it’s the same guys?
Play calling could make up for that difference. Remember Justin can only run 5 wide with fullbacks split furthest out.
Sounds like they did the same thing to Herbert this week, practiced all week and then didn’t get activated from IL. Someone needs to explain to this dumpster fire that the tanking starts after this weeks game.
Been throwing, telling everyone he’s good and wants to go, he’s sitting. They’ll toss him out to get killed vs the Lions next week I’m sure.
How long until Flus figures out Bryce sucks at throwing and can only beat you with his legs at this point in his career? Late 3rd qtr?
Love they keep giving Jones all the snaps at the 3T even though he’s fucking garbage. Why see what you have in a second round pick?
When they signed Walker they said part of the reason is because he’s an elite 3T on passing downs. The excuse was we couldn’t do it because we needed him at rush end. We trade for Sweat and still won’t do it because….
Just line Big Tev and Darnell next to each other for the next decade please. God those guys are maulers.
This is a better graph... it removes scrambles. This is true in the pocket throws. WRs don't separate.
The graph is telling you if WRs are getting separation (Bears WR are not) and if the QB is able to identify it (Fields is very good at finding the open WR) Its actually a good sign for both QBs... very bad for our WR core. They don't get separation and they aren't schemed open either. Its a bad offense still... fire Luke, draft MHJ
Him making an nfl roster and looking like a good backup QB is great. Its a huge win. He's not a starting level QB... I'm glad that bullshit narrative has or will finally die. Get Justin in there next week against the Lions.
100% worth the 2nd rounder. I don't think he's elite but he's so very good. Need to keep adding talent to the DL in this off-season
