Bears should trade Caleb to someone else and take a qb mid 1st Feel like the Bears need a qb that’s less risk averse than both of them. They can both make spectacular plays but they both can force costly turnovers
Worst I've felt after a win. Offense looked like shit, worse draft position, big Tev injury. I hate how pessimistic this team has made me. I liked Fields more than most; from a logical standpoint, I think you have to draft Williams/Maye to reset the clock, but it's hard to truly grade Fields when the offensive play calling is such garbage.
I watched a ton of Fields in college, i'm sure you did as well. I've seen plenty of him in the pro's... The biggest strength of Fields as a passer as always been he's an amazing deep ball passer. Luke should've been fired months ago. Fucking McCaskey's and the stupid policy of not firing staff during a season.
Pickens is also coming along. I think Pickens is probably more of a 3T vs where they mainly play him but we shall see. Poles might have really nailed that out of the park with Dex. He was not a 3T in college and now is developing into maybe the 2nd best DT out of this draft class behind Carter.
You take Maye if you believe Williams is a Fields clone... You don't trade back into the middle of the 1st round to take the 5th best QB in the draft because he's safe. Look at how that worked out for the Pats.
if you have the top pick in the draft twice in a row and pass up on multiple great qbs to grab some average at best guy in the mid first round….you can’t come back from that
Correct, I like Fields always have. Thought he was just as good as Lawrence coming out of college but its clear there is a huge disconnect from this staff and Fields. I think he's a good NFL QB. I'm not sure he's elite. But I think his ceiling wont be found here in Chicago. Let's hope Atlanta gives us a bag. Its time to reset this correct for the first time in my lifetime. New HC that you pair with Williams or Maye... Poles seems smart enough to know this.
This fan base loves Justin. He's a good dude, he's put up some historic performances (both good and sadly bad) and this fan base so desperately wants it to finally work at the QB spot. I'm sure a lot of people don't follow CFB close enough and are going off what the talking heads at ESPN and sports talk radio tell them and Maye really hasn't gotten they hype he deserves and Williams has been trashed the last few months.
the discourse has turned into if you give fields an elite offensive line, two top 10 receivers, and a really good tight end he might be able to pass for 3200 yards in the future and that’s what the bears need
I don't disagree, evaluating has been tough because he's been given nothing to help him. I done envy Poles. Like I said the other day I think Fields can be a good QB in the NFL. Can he be great? idk but some of his downside regardless of the players around him suggest no... Either way what Fields ultimately turns into wont happen in Chicago. Everything screams reset.
I think a full reset is in the best interest for all. but, if you decide to keep him, you MUST hire a coach who wants Fields and who has an idea on how to use him. The HC/OC combo they have now is a terrible fit for what Fields does. (would also be terrible with CALEB)
so I heard a couple of people toss this out on pods, I believe as BS... but its actually picking up steam within our fanbase... a loss for words
Puke…. Hopefully he takes all of CJ’s powers and gives it to Fields, this a Bears board or a Buckeye board?
Mitch and Kyler helping us out. Jumping AZ would be huge. Peter King said trading from 1 to 7ish would net 3 1s and a 2nd or two. Do that and draft MHJ at 3.
Chiefs offense looks off for sure, not sure how much that is on Nagy. Kelce took a step back and has been banged up, and they don't really have a true #1 receiver. Given how good Mahomes is they should definitely be better though. Their offensive talent as a whole is better than what we had, but our defense was better.
Nagy fucking blows. That’s not to say Mitch was going to be great… but Nagy stinks as a play caller. A lot of Andy Reid offensive coaches don’t pan out because he’s got too much control over the offense. I guess EB is proving to be the exception.
At this point I’m ok with keep Justin and trading back and grabbing as much draft capital… one of MHJ or Nabers and one of Chop or Newton. All I really want is the entire coaching staff fired.
if you take out all of his bad games, include all of his good games, and ignored he got hurt again this season then he’s actually an above average qb!
New England would "win" a draft tie breaker over the Panthers, so this would be huge if the Pats can hold on.
Are you sure of that? Their schedule is fairly difficult down the stretch. I’d imagine they’ll end up with a harder strength of schedule than the panthers. Hopefully it’s moot anyways thanks to Mitch
