Rome had a solid day but he sure as fuck needs to work on upper body strength and his hand strength. So may drops to start the year including the INT on the sideline yesterday that should've been a catch not a drop/pop up into a INT.
Seriously that’s embarassing to have on film and embarassing to anyone who’s ever worn the jersey. Even if the coaches (on whatever basis) trust Shelton more, you have to play Kramer if for no other reason than to see if you have something in Kramer. Otherwise cut his ass and go get another backup
He's the truth... and he will get better. If our staff doesn't get him killed. Instead of firing the entire staff outside of Flus and the OL coach we should've been hiring one of Johnson or Slowick
Starting to feel like the billingsly signing was a fluke and we need to totally overhaul our pro scouting department. From Shelton to Davis to swift to claypool, it’s trash
Shelton was a back up plan as bates was supposed to be the starting center it seems. Davis was a priority though and that’s a huge whiff. What I don’t understand is how did Jenkins regress so much? Surely he’s hurt
It’s infuriating to watch Daniels throw all these screens and crosses that are perfectly blocked and go for 5-10 yards every time.
Last offseason the Chiefs said they could only afford one of Humphrey or Smith and gave Humphrey the huge deal. Maybe Smith would have a soft spot for the guy that drafted him. But it seems anytime they say that they add years and covert shit on Mahomes contract and clear $20 million.
It was more your evaluation didn’t describe the prospect. “Not gonna be good in the NFL because he was fantastic at fighting for jump balls” when those that are bad at fighting for jump balls fall out of the league with the quickness. It just made no sense. Not a top 5 WR in the draft is what you said. Wouldn’t take him with a top 10 pick. Everyone pushed back and you stood tall.
the quotes are on the board. Don’t make shit up. he has trouble separating and is a big contested catch prospect that is troublesome. It’s why the talk of being better than Harrison or Nabers was crazy. But continue to make up fake quotes
Not sure how many #1 centers hit FA, looks like ATL’s Center is a FA but at 25 yrs old he’s probably getting resigned.
Depending on how shitty the season is I’d be alright with going LT with our top 10 pick and then moving those 2 2nds around to grab the best Center.
If the panthers pick lands in the 30’s you can probably get the top center or the second best center. I’d rather keep the picks. I’d rather have the second best center and a top guard than the top center.
Have enough free agency room to sign a guard or tackle and kick Wright inside if needed. Curious what Poles does with Jenkins at this point, he’s healthy but the shitty staff can’t let you get a good evaluation on anything.
Jenkins won't be resigned, Shelton won't be resigned, Davis will get waived which will take something like 9-10 mil off the books. Jones will be back, Wright will be back, We don't know about Bates yet and where he fits in, we'll see what happens when he comes off IR and how healthy he is and how well he plays, but he's almost certainly back as well, and can play center or guard. My guess is he plays center because my god Shelton is a disaster. If he gets the job done they may just keep him there next season. There's a lot of directions they can go next year. They can sign/draft a tackle and slide Jones over to guard, which makes sense but is a little odd considering he's consistently been the Bears best offensive lineman for 3 years now. But you can't give up on Darnell Wright after using a top 10 pick on him, and although he has struggled, he has flashed the ability that made him a top 10 pick as well. If you draft a tackle next season, do you move your best offensive lineman out of the LT spot in favor of an unproven rookie? Maybe works long term, but almost certainly makes the Bears worse in 2025. This makes me think the Bears target a big name in FA.
Hopefully Amegadjie can find a spot on that o-line. Then sign a big FA and draft someone high. I know people want the bears to take multiple offensive linemen with their top 3 picks but you can’t have an offensive line with 2-3 rookies on it. Wrights regression this year has been so disheartening. He was very solid last year as a rookie
rookies famously stay rookies forever and nobody has ever developed multiple lineman at the same time
If Amegadjie doesn’t pan out, that becomes the most galaxy brain pick of all time Pass on helping this fucking horrendous OL at #9, instead grab an Ivy League guy coming off a surgical soft tissue repair. I’m starting to hate Poles
i thought he graded out pretty average and good among other rookies, maybe I am not remembering correctly
I imagine the Poles, Flus, Waldron relationship is gonna get spicy real quick if shit like this keeps going on.
This roster was stripped down to absolute nothing. Poles can’t fill and fix every hole in a single offseason. That’s not even a remote possibility. This shit takes time. This season is all about who will be here with Caleb. Shitting on Poles is just insanity. WR Edge IOL x 2 ( C/G ) are going to be needs… A new HC and I think we’re golden I get it we have raised expectations and this start has been very disappointing. But the season isn’t over and I think we will continue to improve as the season unfolds. But clearly we have room to vastly improve the roster next offseason and that’s a very big positive.
Tell me to fuck off but your excuses are absolutely outrageous. No person on earth thought Washington had near the weapons of Chicago and you gave Caleb 10x what Fields had love you dirt
Waldron is a terrible play caller. That's evident early on... Caleb seems very frustrated with the pace of the calls. And his personnel choices are lacking. I didn't need to wake up for a 6:30am meeting to see this.
