unless there’s a guy you think can play LT at 10 I also think trading down is probably the right move
I'm loving the off-season so far from Poles. I think he crushed the OL upgrade. Also has done a nice job of upgrading the depth on the defensive line. Team needs and where I think we find the solution: RB1: Day 2 ( Hampton, Johnson, Giddens) TE 2: Day 2 (Fannin, Loveland) OT 4: Free Agent IOL4: Day 3 (Wehr, Wilson, Webb) Edge2: 1st Round (Pearce, Williams, Green) DT5: Day 3 (Griffith, Norman-Lott, Walker, Barrow, Peebles) LB3: Free Agent S3: Day 2 (Wohler, Winston) WR4: Day 3 K: Day 3
Jackson is a wild card, yes he was hurt last year but he played great with Johnson in Detroit. I'm taking a IOL prospect on day 3. I just posted a few names I could see on the board and could develop into NFL starters.
With where they’re at now from where they started this offseason I think everyone should be pleased. Still need some cheap vet deals at WR3, S, TE2. They might use the draft for these spots but it’d be nice to start drafting BPAs instead of filling glaring holes. Fine with Jarret and Thuney being the “old guys” at 31/32. They’re both durable and strong leaders, locker room needs that. Would like to hear about Thuney/Gordon extensions soon. The Dayo move doesn’t do a ton for me. I get that they’re paying for future production since he’s only 25. Still think they’re going to be lacking pressure with this DL group.
670 on on the background. Olin’s really high on Dalman and the guards. Big Ant is really high on Jarret so that’s good.
jarrett weighs 290 pounds. He’s not playing nose tackle for the bears, he didn’t play nose tackle for the falcons. Last year the saints nose tackle was Eddie Goldman who weighed 320 lbs
Hmm. I won’t hold my breath. Poles history of bringing in “traits over production” hasn’t worked out for either line so far.
It’s been a day for GGCD… I would also assume we will see the top 4 at DL and Edge to be in heavy rotation all season.
Dayo signing is steep but I do love big ass DEs over undersized “edges” for this defense Wouldn’t mind Mykel Williams at 10
He's an upgrade over Walker. I see a lot of people shitting on the signing and I don't get it. As you mentioned he's able to swing inside on pass rush situations. He ranked high in QB hits last year and the year prior did a nice job getting to the QB. I have a feeling Mack was our guy and the moment he told us no this was plan B. Its a solid fallback option tbqh. I don't think he or Mack would prevent us from selecting a Edge early in the draft. He will be in a rotation with whoever we select in the draft. I think were going to rotate our players to keep them fresh much like the Eagles did all year. Even Grady wont see as many reps. I don't think he will see 66% of snaps like he did in ATL. We have really good depth with more coming.

Podcasters are going to have me screaming for Jeanty/Warren by draft day. It’s all anyone’s talking about now.
If you are going to go for a "this might not be smart but could be badass" pick you could include Emmanwori in consideration
Emmanwori is as good of a safety prospect to come into the draft since Darwin James. The other two are media hypes with flaws that nobody is honestly discussing.
Feel like he is a wild card in this draft that there is almost no pick he'd go too high that the draft industrial complex would scoff at. Everyone is in love with him. If I were a mid team that didn't have obvious needs but just wanted a badass I would think long and hard about drafting him.* *Based 100% on combine and what talking heads say. I can't say I've watched a single play of South Carolina football of any consequence.
Warren could completely transform a Ben Johnson offense. I’ve never loved Kmet. With that said, let’s eat our vegetables for once and draft an OL or DL. 1) Campbell 2) Membouh 3) Mykel Williams 4) Trade back a few and take Kenneth Grant
I heard Matt miller on the radio say Campbell can’t play tackle and he plays right now in the most upright stance he’s ever seen a player use. Because of that he’ll have to completely rework his stance to play guard. This is something that can be done but he isn’t some plug and play stud at guard
The draft does not have a single OT prospect with a top 15 pick. The kid out of Missouri who is a RT is probably the only legit OT that has a 1st round grade. All the other OT that are projected top half of the 1st picks are really Guards. At this point I'm pretty sure OL is off the table in round 1. I just pray we don't do something fucking stupid like taking a RB or TE in the 1st.
Lack of production and now sup par athletic data... Williams is a day 2 pick. Edit: Campbell will have to kick inside... as mentioned above Matt Miller thinks he will struggle on the transition because of his natural setup and being way to upright. Membouh is a RT, similar to Wright where he's never played a snap at LT. I'm not wasting a top 10 pick on a project who wont see the field in year one with premium top 10 pick. Especially when so many other prospects check the boxes on defense
Simmons isn't a 1st round talent imho... He's got injury concerns that medically I wouldn't know what those look like. And he wasn't very productive in college. He has one of the worst run block grades and a high pressure/sack %. Did he play through injury's in college that caused the terrible production numbers? If so maybe you roll the dice. I wouldn't take him till round 3. My top 4 OT in this class are K. Banks Jr (1st round) A. Membou (1st round) L. Brown (2nd round) J. Cornley (2nd round) Everyone else that's projected to be a OT is 3rd round or later imho... I've said for months that OL in this draft is terrible. I'm very happy we addressed the issue via trade and free agency.
Yeah I thought he popped a bunch this year for Washington. Excited to see how Ben Johnson uses him. Get him out in space and let him work Also, it’s absolutely hilarious how much brisker hates Eberflus:
Well we knew we weren't going into the season with Tyler Scott as our #3 receiver. Still think we take another guy in the draft.
I would like to see them take a burner in round 3 or later. Will be curious to see if Poles is willing to go against his preferred athletic traits at WR with a new HC in place. Because Poles has been very bad at the evaluation at that position. I don’t think Olaminde is a game changer but his production profile and athletic data is the direction I want to see Poles focus on
He would've been a top 5 OT in this class... He was a raw prospect that needed a couple of years before he could be put into the starting lineup. Let's see how he looks in pre-season.
