Was hard on Pagano earlier in the year, but he's been killing it the last few weeks. The D looks great. Oline is dogshit, but Foles brings a bit of a higher ceiling to the offense even though it's still trash.
I wish Pagano would bring the pressure in more situations and as Hoge and Jahns say “the defense is leaky”. Could be do to scheming could also have a lot to do with Goldman sitting out. Massie and Leno both need replaced this off-season and their contracts are favorable for it.
BoJack had another pick 6 called back due to a questionable PI especially because it looked like the ball was tipped. Then Johnson got called for another PI that was clean. And Fuller got another PF for his trademark shoulder check hit.
I wouldn’t have minded the PI call if they would’ve called the same damn call the other way against ARob
That would be because our QB play hasn’t improved. Both Mitch and Foles are very inefficient and frankly bad QBs.
Nagy had his issues. I’ve been vocal recently about him being to cute. But he’s got dogshit at QB. QB is a must with our 1st round pick. Kid out of BYU is really growing on me. I know a lot to people love Nance as a early 1st prospect but I think he likely goes mid 1st so another possible option.
He’s not without fault. But it’s hard to point to one thing this offense does well. It can’t run the ball. It can’t pass the ball down the field. It’s not a very accurate offense. Not a fast offense. A big problem is whiffing badly on Mitch that resulted in needing to put resources in a QB replacement instead of adding talent to the offensive skill positions like WR. This team needs a QB.
Basically all of that falls on a head coach. Especially one that wanted to get Foles. And Nagy gets cute too often with playcalling in crucial situations
QB EPA is a metric that judges a QBs efficiency in the passing and running game along with penalties. Foles is 5th worst in the NFL Mitch is 4th worst. Wentz Jones Darnold That’s not on Nagy. That’s awful QB play. Report this week came out that Foles wasn’t the first choice for Nagy this offseason and it actually was Bridgewater.
So we used a draft pick to bring in Foles instead of just signing #1 choice Bridgewater? Please explain the logic.
Up 8. 3rd and 7. LA no Timeouts left, what does Shanahan do? Runs the ball and gets 8 yards. Cuteness doesn’t belong on the football field.
the bears had 3rd and 2 against a team with 1 timeout and a first down wins the game. Getting a first down was what mattered, running the ball into the line and making them burn a timeout didn’t
They also have a top 5 D with 3 top tier pass rushers. Use up their TOs and 1 sack wins you the game no matter what happens. Monty was also averaging like 6 ypc in the 4th.
I think teddy was the number one option but our bonehead gm told him he’d have to compete with Mitch for the number 1 spot. Bears had offered him 3/60 before trading for Foles, but Bridgewater signed a comparable deal with Carolina (3/63 IIRC) to be the guaranteed starter.
The qb situation is on nagy at this point. He had his choice this offseason and made it.. we traded up to get Miller, Montgomery and Kmet and none have done a thing. That is also on nagy as he is the play caller. We hired all of his buddies this year on offense to help out.... the failures on our offense is on nagy. His play calling is dogshit, complete dogshit
SF is built to run the ball. They do it just as good as anyone in football. If the Bears execute the play Nagy called nobody is bitching because both plays were open and our players fucked it up
Monty also got stuffed on the previous play because they sold out to stop the run. I have no problem with a coach being aggressive to try to win the game.
